Thank you 🙏 What size to use for making digital art for a MacBook Pro wallpaper ?
I looked up what canvas size people normally use because I draw at about 700x700-1000x1000 and I was felt like actually where am I going with this
Please make a tut on Procreate
I have a question that maybe obvious but what format do you save it? like i usually save my work as jpg but other people tellme is better use a png or tiff formats, what is the best? and why is that? also is it better to star working at 300dpi if is going to be printed or i can do it in 72 and then pump it to 300?

These are good questions. Saving in JPG is perfect for web and even sometimes for print BUT it's a format that compresses the image and reduces the quality. TIFF and EPS are better formats for print. PNG is another good format for the web. When it comes to the DPI 300 is for print but as long as you have enough pixels (ie: 4000+ px) you should be able to print even if it's at 72 dpi. The number of pixels will determine the size of your print (more pixels = bigger print)

🤔 Not sure why that could be. Is it only blurred for you, have you tried checking it on a different phone?
if i use a digital canvas that is 4500px x 4500 px, what size can i print up to? and what about 4500px x 5625 px?
I was wondering if someone can help please.... Which size / dpi do I use if I want to send my art to be printed in up to A1 size? Thank you!!
@Paintable

For A1 sized print it would be roughly 7000 x 9900 pixels with 300 dpi. Hope this helps 🙂
This is interesting. I usually use 3000x3000 px canvas for Instagram yet i have noticed my work getting blurry when uploaded to Instagram. Read some articles saying that Instagram is compressing anything over 1080px, is that true?

Yes... It's better if you rescale your image to the instagram size manually before posting.👍🏾

Yes, Daniel is right. If you're using Photoshop you can just use the save for web feature explained In this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X5efsJmpp9jYqLQ.html

Question, You said if you wanted to open a shop, just add pixels. how much do we add for a piece to sell our art??
@Paintable
2 жыл бұрын
Try not to go below 4500px on the shorter side. So 4500x4525px for a portrait/landscape format.
So what dpi should I use for a 4x5 instagram post? and also, what would be the best way to export the procreat art into an instagram post?
@Paintable
7 ай бұрын
72 dpi is enough for most phone screens. But posting your original 300 dpi image works too as instagram does an good job compressing the image when you upload it.

I'm late with a reply but I thought I might add this: the dpi is simply how it translates the amount of pixels to a length. Dot per inch. The more pixel/dots in one inch, the more crisp the image will be, but also the smaller it will be. It will always have the same amount of pixels though. Screens operate with only 72dpi. So anything online is gonna look fine as long as you have those 2500 px. For reference: 2500 on 72 dpi is like 88 cm length. 2500 on 300 dpi, is gonna be only 21 cm if you print it and want it to look crisp and not blurry.

hey guy's can you give me some advice about the canvas size's for doing art commission like which canvas size i should use for chest. and half body and full body can you guy's kindly help this fellow digital artist 😃
@Paintable

The canvas size isn't determined by what you paint, but rather by where the painting will be used. If you're not sure, just go with the print size mentioned in the video. Then the client will be able to use it on socials and in print as well. 🙂
