What can you expect from a cheap portable camping grill? | Weber Go-Anywhere Gas Grill Review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Another video in my series of grill reviews! Sorry it's been so long since my last review but I am running out of space to keep all of these! That's not a valid excuse, so I will do better to do some more grill reviews in the future 👍. #GrillReview
This week I tested out the #Weber Go-Anywhere Portable Gas Grill which goes for a little less than $100 currently. While it's on the higher cost end for these small portable grills I think less than $100 for a beast like this grill is a STEAL!

    I own one of these. They are amazing. The best cleaner for the grate is Good Gone Oven Degreaser. I got my grill at Target on clearance for $30. Best money spent. Even at full price, this is a solid grill for camping or tailgating. Bring a long neck lighter as the ignition system is crap and only worked for me once. That is my only complaint about the grill. And bring a pot holder for heat resistant glove as the handle gets hot as hell. For under $100 it is very much worth it.

    I just bought this grill. In looking at the manual, I think you have the grate upside down. The holes are supposed to be in the valleys not in the ridges in order to allow drippings to drain.

    I have one of these. The Best thing to me is the small foot print when packing the Jeep. I bring it anywhere "just in case". It has saved many a campout when someone else's cooking method didn't work. I jokingly call it the camping microwave because it's great for warming up leftovers. It cleans easy but sometimes you need to disassemble and deep clean. For that, it's handy to have all those wing nuts.

    I'm a complete noob at grilling -- this is my first ever -- and one thing that surprised me is how loose the regulator attaches to the tube that runs through the bottom. But I guess that's normal. I was also surprised by the giant flame that went up when I ignited it the first time, but I'm guessing that's normal too. I'll light it faster after I turn up the gas next time. Thanks for the review, I'll subscribe even though I doubt I'm gonna watch a ton of grilling videos :) I guess you never know!

    Thanks for putting this video out there. I have the older style of this grill that is about 25 years old, and use it several times a year for camping and hunting. Looking at the newer style, I prefer the older version with the flavorizer grate/bar and the grill grate being separate pieces. Looks like Weber copied some cheaper competitors models with one vented grate. Hopefully I can still get some replacement parts for the older style.

    Thanks For The Review 🌹 It's helpful to decide whether or not to go for it speaking of which there are hardly any other American Brands Available in this segment in our market. The Primary reason is the local competition, local grills are available for as low as 10$ and pretty much do the job but definitely have zero quality when it comes to the product itself. The second reason is that most of the people avoid keeping grills at home and enjoy eating grilled meats outside from local roadside vendors as it's convenient and needs no prep time 😀 plus gives an opportunity to enjoy the sundowners 🥃🍷 while we wait for the meat to be handed over to eat right from the grill🔥 Cheers From India 🇮🇳❤️ Your New Sub 🙏

    Great job!!! Funny (well not really), so I purchased the new Weber Traveler last summer from Weber online direct, the gas regulator assembly started leaking 3 weeks ago. I contacted them for a warranty regulator assembly and there out of stock and back ordered until August 30th. Wife and I are heading on a big camping road trip and after a few back and forth emails Weber offered to send me one of these for our trip. I thought that was kinda cool on there part. Certainly not the Weber Traveler but it will get us through. Oh I subscribed to your channel also.

    Have you used the Cabela's portable gas grill? I've had one for a few years, but it's beat to piss and missing some legs, so I'm either going to get one of these or another one of those and wondering if you got to compare them. I might also try the charcoal version of this too, undecided. My old propane grill died and I bought a Weber Deluxe Charcoal grill because it was cheaper and I honestly would never go back to propane except for possibly ease of use camping.

  • @BBGrillShack

    @BBGrillShack

    3 жыл бұрын

    I haven't used the Cabelas but if I get my hands on it I certainly will! I prefer charcoal as well but one thing I like about the propane for camping is that up here in Washington the govt doesn't allow charcoal for long sections of the summer. Also I saw Weber makes a charcoal version of their portable Q grills which might be nice!

  • @shred5

    @shred5

    Жыл бұрын

    @@BBGrillShack I got this Weber two years ago, and all in all it's an upgrade over the Cabelas. The Cabelas had a lot more heat, but it was unevenly distributed over the holes in the heat shield, so basically the Weber offers the same amount of functional cooking area as it cooks evenly. The propane canisters also last seemingly twice as long, maybe not quite or maybe a little more. So I'm very happy with this Weber. I do generally need the simplicity of propane when I'm camping. I usually spend all day out on the water and come back when it's dark and sometimes I come back pretty famished after a long day kayaking and fishing in the hot sun.

    In heavy winds you're going to have a hard time using this little grill. Try blocking the wind with some barriers around the grill and lighting it up with a long grill lighter instead of the starter button. Shaking the little green cans to feel if there's liquid in them is the best way to check if they've got gas. Good luck! 👍

    I don't think Weber makes a bad grill, they put a lot of thought into their designs. This is a perfect stowable grill, they make a charcoal grill in this same format. That grate is probably an attempt to replicate the Grill Grates, i see by that flipper you probably own them!

    Both are good options. But like myself I'm saying charcoal is tastes and cooks far better than any propane grill. After years of cooking on a propane grills I'm sick of not having that great BBQ taste and sear that only charcoal provides. People don't realize that propane grills have dead spots between the propane pipes . It's only an oven. That's why a grates like this one is needed for more heat capture and to maintain heat on the food. If you ask me a griddle grate is a better option for propane.
