I personally think that on Fat PS2 HDD/SSD is the way to go, games will run smoother always without any stutters on FMV's and will load faster. MX4SIO is a solid choice to consider if you have a Slim model.

I used to have a hdd setup but recently it just wasn't working at all and was very problematic. Mx4sio is so much simpler to use that I feel it's the way for most people out there. The guys that like to tinker and fiddle will like hdd better

Nice vid. I personally find playing from a HDD/SSD with the network adapter, a smoother experience as in comparison to the MX 4. Another thing, I have those wireless controllers as well. The thumb sticks had a dead zone, especially the left one and they were a bit too sensitive. I changed the thumb sticks with the ones from an original PS 2 controller that was dead. They have the exact same soldering points. Now I can enjoy playing with those wireless controllers.

I owned 4 ps2s, I still have my launch model and my slim. Still have my og Logitech wireless controllers as well.

@@GearsAndTech yes I still play my slim, but they both still work. I don’t have a backwards compatible ps3 so I won’t be getting rid of them. Ps2 was my favorite era for gaming. I’ve lost some of my games over time though, I’m pretty sure the 2 ps2s I sold had games in the disc drives. Lost my copy of gran tourismo 4 and a few others I can’t remember atm.

I just bought a ps2 fat boy with controller and memory card plus the wiring for 65 bucks. Works great.

Picked up a ps2 slim ceramic white for $15 yesterday. Looking to play some of my childhood favorites on it, Marvels Ultimate Alliance 1/2, Dragon Ball BT3, Scarface, Disney Extreme Skate, just a few from the top of my head. My only question is what happens to the discs after making a copy, do they still work?

Yes. Discs still work fine

It works fantastic and the sd came formatted to FAT32. I have had one issue though - when I went to load one of my own backup isos into the DVD folder, I removed three games I didn't want adding up to about 4 gb of memory to make room for my 2 gb iso and it read my iso was too large. So I took 6 more gigs off and the result was the same. So I backed up the DVD folder onto my PC and emptied the DVD folder on the sd - it still read my 2 gb game was too large to load into an emty folder once comprised of the majority of 128 gigs. Very strange. I've done this numerous times with dozens of consoles and never ran into this before.

Because it's fat32 you can't put a game bigger than 3.7 gb on Need to do iso split on the game Also low quality SD card comes with it. If you have issues like this I recomend trying a name brand sd card

Did you buy the package I linked in the description? If not, you simply need to get a copy of ps2 loader that works and link it I've actually been using the version of opl that supports ntsc drives. And have that in my mx4sio. Working great

Anton, I thought you returned the dualsense edge, I got the controller on your video, and this is the best controller I’ve ever had. ( Duelsense Edge) it took me a few weeks to get used to the two paddles on the back. But the controller is amazing. The battery life is garbage though that’s the only con.

Yeah I don't game very long at one time and the battery was almost dead during my testing This was the last video I filmed before I sent my ds edge back. It took a long time to complete filming on this though because my video capture card was junk, and my hdd caddy had broken so my free hd mcboot was glitchy. It was actually not fun to film this. I spent about 6 hours filming and had to keep resetting. Thats why there is a continuity error. You ll notice the ds edge is missing for the middle of the video. Thays cause I didn't have it anymore

mine worked for 16 years no issues since 2007

i run the ps1 games of the usb there is free software which converts bin cue files to vcd files so opl can read them

The micro sd card is removable, you just stick that into your pc and add all the games you want

Sorry but the Switch is the best selling console of all time selling 100M units in a 4 year span 131M units in a 6 year span. The PS2 sold 100M units in a 6 year span and 155M units in a 13 year span
