@@fatearamines6848 Hi. I have alopecia areata. The steroid shots helped me. My new dermatologist has not used them. I take a daily anti-inflammatory and use a daily topical steroid. I supplement that with a probiotic and hair density tablet as suggested by the new dermatologist. To be frank, I think the shots were an important part of the regimen and will ask my new dermatologist to incorporate.

Awww, she looks so pretty! You could tell she got her confidence back. Until a woman loses her hair or it breaks off, you really can't appreciate how great it feels to have hair again. What a BEAUTIFUL job 💓

Who else thinks the braids alone are beautiful!😆💜💕

Omg, you are so sweet to help your Cousin. I have been dealing with alopecia from I wss a child and decided to shave my hair last year. I just needed to come to grips with myself. Hair doesn't define who I am, it's all about what's on the inside of a person. I can tell by looking at her that she is a strong woman. Let her know to be Encouraged and God Loves y'all so much!

I'm a cosmetologist in New York, and my main focus is always the health of my clients' hair. No way would I have not addressed that problem first hand, she need to cut all that damage hair off, a good treatment, and if she didn't feel secure to wear her natural hair , then ok ,I would install the wig ,and the whole time I will be giving her tips on how to take care of her natural hair and the wig..

As someone with alopecia, I think this install was a terrible idea, even if it’s what the client wanted. The goal is scalp and hair health. I wish they could have found a happy medium. When I wear wigs I sleek my natural hair down. And I take it off every day. It’s been a battle going to hairdressers and telling them to not braid down my hair even when I tell them I have alopecia. The main thing I need them to do is just style the wig, not do all the other stuff they do to secure it. If you cannot do what I am asking, just tell me that and we’ll do something else. But, don’t try to braid my hair down when I tell you not to do it and give you the reason.

Using glue and sewing on hairpieces is totally wrong that's why the client has severe hair damages. What she need is professional hair cut. Monthly Treatments to get hair growing again. Or use wig that thus no need for glue or sewing to your scalp.

And they pile on so much stuff on top of the hair, no wonder the hair follicles can’t breathe and her edges be gone. Stocking cap, spray, gel, makeup, and then the wig…all that sitting on top of her already damaged hair. How does she clean her scalp? What if she sweats a lot on a particular day like after a workout…? My mind is blown.

I have my hair cut down like a real haircut but I have all of my edges and there are no bald spots. I don’t wear any kind of weave or braids. Tension is what’s causing the breaking. You have to let your hair breath in order for it to grow. A lot of women like to say Alopecia but it’s due to them damages their hair!!!

This is so true! I damaged my hair and edges so bad to the point that I couldn’t go without weaves. I finally said nope and actually took the time to cater to my natural hair and it has been flourishing 🙏🏽🙏🏽 The best decision I ever made, I’m now scared to even ruin the process by getting weaves again.

You really can’t tell that from just looking at this video though. Even a doctor would have to examine her to tell whether she had any type of alopecia or whether her hair loss is simply due to tension.

She explained that her cousin has struggled with weak and thin hair her whole life, she just wanted a wig and is not concerned about preserving her hair because it can't be preserved anyways due to struggles with alopecia etc.

You have beautiful work.. I learned with my hair I was allergic to synthetic hair. I had a lot of breakage and sores that formed in my scalp. I researched other substitutes I could use and started using yarn for my protective styles for wigs and sew-ins. My hair started growing back and the sores were not there.
