Aw thanks Rhiannon! No rules really apart from keeping it professional, not in front of the kids and no sneaking off and doing stuff (but everyone does hahaha) x

@@MaisieCraddock Thanks, Maisie, that's reassuring to hear. Would you need plenty of experience in being abroad for an extended period of time, and would you be conscious of your family being worried about you?

@@trinaq you don’t need any experience at all! Mostly all the people that do camp america have never travelled alone before but Camp America really look after you and so will your camp so your family won’t be worried! You’ll have the time of your life out there x

@@MaisieCraddock Thank you for easing my doubts somewhat. By the way, did you have any issues with layover flights, or with people from the Camp meeting you at the airport?

@@trinaq no problem and no we didn’t have any issues - we did have to wait a while for the camp to meet us at the airport as we had to wait for other flights to get in first and then we all went together but camp america will guide you if any issues

İ applied for a campower position no offer came from camps to me nearly a month any advice or anything i can do ?

Hi there, I wouldn’t worry just yet as it’s still early on if you only sent it off in October time. Normally camps start recruiting a lot more in the new year so hang tight :) if it helps though, definitely send Camp America a question on their contact us page and they will help :)

Hi Maisie, loving your videos🥰! I am applying for Camp Canada. When you applied for Camp America was there any way you could opt to be with kids of a certain age or to be placed at a day camp? Also, do you recommend being a general counsellor or activity specialist?🫶🏼

Hey Paige, thanks so much! I remember saying my preference with age in my application and at the recruitment fair and my camp did take note I wanted older kids so it worked well but I’m not sure if they can always guarantee. The same with day camps, you can say it as a preference or look out for the ones that are but I’m not sure it’s a guarantee. A general counsellor will be with the same kids all the time but will do different things with them throughout the day, whereas a specialist you’ll do the same thing but see different kids. Personally, unless you love your specialist subject and want to do it all the time or it’s one like mine (camp photographer) which means you can move around camp and see everyone, I’d say general counsellor gets you out there and you can see more people and more of camp more often! But both are good! As Andrew said in this video, he didn’t have to share a bunk with the kids as a specialist which is a perk but at my camp I did so it all depends on your camp really! Xx
