This is crazy . She said the rx100 V . Also that it’s a touch screen which is true for focus but not to navigate through menus (kinda true??) micro 4/3rds when it’s APS-C . The other cameras in this line ; older models , a6000, a6300, a6500. New models a6100, a6400, a6600. She also said the 10-18mm Sony is relatively cheap ?? I guess it is when you compare it to FE glass but it’s still $1000 in Australia ($700ish US?) The small saramonic mic is great in controlled environment but you’d never vlog with it outside . Rode micro is a better option . I could seriously keep going !! 😂

OGtalks That 10-18mm is definitely not cheap. Was kinda bummed she said that. I guess it is when compared to the 2k+ lenses for the A7iii but alas...

A couple Sony tips: Turn on face detection on that A7III and it will keep your face in focus all the time while filming (with continuous AF). Also the Sony G 24-105 F/4 is not only lighter than the 24-70 GM it also is optically stabilized, which makes it superior for run-and-gun filming. It's also about $1000 less. (Bonus: the 24-105 stabilization works on cinema cameras like the FS7, which don't have it built-in. If you "move up" or rent larger cameras, that can make the 24-105 much more valuable to own long-term.)

Great camera gear there Justine. I was partial to Sony at one time and may purchase some of their cameras again. Thank you for sharing your gear choices with us. Those are all very simple rigs for low budget to bigger budgets.

I would love to vlog some of my family’s adventures, but I’m not sure about walking around vlogger style with my arm extended pointing a camera at myself. Makes me wonder if that self consciousness goes away easily. I love the idea of that little camera. Great video....very interesting content...I've been using the dji ozmo pocket to make my slot machine play videos...The small size doesn't draw much attention in the casinos and the gimbal smooths out the footage...I just picked up a dji ozmo action but haven't used it yet...I was considering a small point and shoot but I think the pocket and action will get it done for me....Thanks again for the great content..

Fun video! I got the RX0 II for hiking in the mountains for it being really light weight. I've done a ton of underwater shots which are awesome. Slow-mo is rather difficult to setup on the tini screen when shooting in full sunlight. And time lapses are really nice, I got some nd filter from Freewell.

I love my current setup! Similar to your a6400 one. I have the a6400 set up with the small rig extender, RODE video micro, switch pod, Sony 16-24 mm lens with a Peter McKinnon filter. The gold PM Polar Pro adds a little personality, I’ve also added a Alphaguard skin to personalize it and a peak design strap. It’s a bit heavy but I love it. Also pretty pricey lol it took me a while to build up my carry.

Hey just to let you know, the 6400 is actually an apsc sensor, not micro 4/3rds, slightly important to say because you can use any micro 4/3rds lens on any camera with the same sensor size but the same doesnt apply to apsc

If you dont already I suggest the gopro max for 1080 stabilization. Hero mode turns the files into reg gopro thpe files on the sd for easy use in final cut. Along it has horizon lock making it more stable than the gopro 7 in the karma grip. It's seriously the most under talked about thing out there. I know your time is limited but my last video shows how stable it is with horizon lock. Its seriously so crazy and the future. All in one unit. Switch to regular files for action or whatever back to 360 for reframing. Oh and in hero mode u can do max view and that wider than superview.

I use an a6500 & a6600 with a rode videomicro mic, and litra torch. Small rig cage and Joby tripod. Then i use gopro hero 7 & 8 for smaller rigs with the small gopro tripod. I no longer use a mic with the gopros just to keep it a simple & small compact rig. For lens i use the sony 10-18, 30mm sigma, and sony 18-135.

The best camera is the one you own. I always recommend that people just use your iPhone or Android smartphone with a Sure MV88+ because it gives you the crispy audio with the phone mount and stand. Phones now days are great at capturing footage.

Currently I am using a Canon Vixia HFM40 with HDMI out. I want to upgrade and buy camera and have the best image to use to stream my Zoom and Live FaceBook and KZread Live streaming sessions. I need to keep the camera plugged in all the time so it will it run for hours without shutting off. Please tell me what camera would you recommend or should I not make a change?

I use the sony a6400 with the 16mm 2.8 or the sigma 16 mm 1.4 for vlogging! for B rolls I use the sigma 30mm 1.4 or the 50mm 1.8 FE
