I can understand as a well travelled American, other countries often equate Americans as Trump, MAGA Followers which means, Fat, Stupid, Christian Family Values Straight men caught sexually assaulting other men, very loud, poor and ill mannered. It is a universal reputation outside of the USA. Of course so many Americans that never left the country will never know that.

People always say the French are arrogant and rude, but I found them to be quite polite when I visited from Australia. Especially the way they would usually make some attempt to mask their horror and quickly switch smoothly from their native tongue into English, in an effort to stop me from continuing to butcher their language with my 2-terms-of-high-school-back-in-1995 level of pronunciation, shockingly confused verb tenses and crazily mixed up masculine/feminine nouns.

I hope they're taking care of themselves, getting enough to eat, that kind of thing." Only to see you condoning this tired kind of American bashing. I mean we deserve it, but I somehow expected better out of you.
