I currently have all three in my inventory. My favorite is tamiya. They work great for air brush as well. I have a few other brands as well, but for me overall tamiya is the best choice

I agree it's sad that less and less younger people are getting into the building hobby and just play on their phone and play video games...

I recently sold my Xbox and returned to building models or spending more time out in the garage working on projects. It’s a breath of fresh air.

I built models (poorly) when I was a kid about 13 and quit when I got into high school. I'm now in my 50s and have gotten back into it again and am really enjoying it.

Testors was some pretty good paint. When I was a teen you could buy a bottle like that for .30 cents. I so miss the Model Masters Paint I used that often on my models and had some great results. I do go to Hobby Lobby if I am desperate for paint, but I would rather go to a good hobby store locally owned.

Do you use an airbrush at all? I just got my first airbrush kit, and I'm trying to figure out what paints work best for car bodies.

I still have a fair amount of Model Master paints from three or four years ago. I love Tamiya paints and use them a lot and I have yet to see that Revell paint anywhere but in videos and it sounds like it should stay that way! I'm using some cheap craft acrylics like you get at Hobby Lobby or Michaels...in an airbrush. Works great! and it's cheap!

I used to use testors all the time as a kid these days I only use the metallics others colors tend to dry up if they're not used often. For that I use acrylics they're cheaper. At hobby lobby now I've noticed only the revell kits are up in price almost 40 bucks while amt or mpc remain under $30 I don't know why.

Testors .25 oz bottle enamels have plenty of colors to choose from.. Rustoleum discontinued the Model Master paints but still producing enamel .25 oz bottles and acrylics. 25 oz bottles. I've been to several stores and haven't seen the .25 oz acrylics sold separately though. They have been available in a package kit. The .25 oz enamels have been available separately and in package kits

For car bodies MCW ENAMELS are hands down the best there is. They carry over 200 modern and vintage colors. They are also much better than the old Testors enamels, as these cure in 24 hours.

by the time of this comment, Testors is gone, and you can't get it unless it's leftover stock somewhere. I do entirely hand brush painting. I use Tamiya a lot, but it is not the best for the hand brush. Revell Aqua color, though I don't have a lot of experience with it yet, seems to be relatively good for the hand brush. Paint manufacturers, though they often say you can use their paint for airbrush or hand, really seem to make their paints for the former, not the latter. I have yet to find a satisfactory handbrush paint. HANDBRUSH PAINTERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!

Rust oleum ruined the testers brand and did away with model masters. I hate when these big ass companies come in buy up the small guys and ruin it for the consumer. Tamiya enamels are excellent but can’t get in the US.
