My cousin died early due to heart problems caused by Marfan. I saw a geneticist & I am somewhat “on the spectrum” of it. I have knee dislocations & had retinal detachment, tons of arthritis (an assortment). The fun part is that every day is different lol

I have Marfan. Was ‘clinically’ diagnosed 2004 and now Genetically. There’s a general looks as is described by the video, but this condition is tricky, because it varies in so many ways, some aren’t, tall or have long fingers. Some don’t have a heart condition either, as it’s said, about 10% don’t have heart problems. In such cases, most can’t be diagnosed clinically only genetically. I fall in the tall typical looks, but I have relatives who have Marfan as well and are not. They say, though having at least one of the major Marfan problems and some of the minor problems, it’s easier to diagnose clinically. I have family members who have no major or minor problems, so to speak. Yet her children have Marfan and knowing it doesn’t skip generations, we know that she has it, even without obvious signs. Meaning, it can’t skip from grandmother to granddaughter. The mother has to have. But you can have this condition, mild moderate to severe. I fall the moderate but severe overall skeletal problems Pain is our daily problem. Very common among us.

I just have long arms and large hands. It could be a syndrome or just genetics. I can't really tell. No heart issues and no signs of slenderness. It it part of the family doctors job to monitor these things in one's yearly health checkups?
