@16 Absolutely not. Especially drunk. I will not go anywhere near a car when I'm drunk. And the longest I've driven while high is from my house to the park and back which is less than 1km and there's also no traffick because of the area I live in. And I can do that only because I've built my tolerance up. First time I smoked I tried leaving to buy some snacks and I literally went "Naah" and went back inside because I knew I couldn't do it.

From my own experience after weed use you know your reflexes are impaired and you are very much aware of it. therefore you concentrate more on driving than you usually would. I very much avoid driving while stoned but have experienced that i actually drive much safer while stoned because you are aware of the side effects.

Talking about the amount of people found with marijuana in their system? That's due to the fact that traces of it stays in the blood stream and can then be detected. Hopefully, while high, most people opt not to drive. It's when they're stopped while sober and given a drug test that these traces place them as under the influence when they're really not.

I actually had a near death experience once due to black ice this past Christmas Eve, I almost slammed into two collided cars ahead of me due to slipping into one another, I swerved around them but keep in mind I was also on a bridge so as I swerved around them I literally almost drove into the railing which could’ve led to me driving all the way off of a bridge, but I ended up pulling some fast and furious shit & somehow drifted my truck perfectly back into my lane & ended up leaving the situation without a scratch, I was in shock & had no doubt that I was going to crash my car at the time, it was a blessing, and at the time I was absolutely fried, I still say that if I wasn’t high at the time I probably wouldn’t be here or if anything I would’ve had really bad injuries from the accident that nearly happened. Absolutely great vid. Cannabis is a very complicated topic because of the variability of how people react to it, and the variety of strains with different effects. Should have done 3 bouts though: 1 control, 1 standard use case (which is what you did), and then the overboard test (where the participant then consumes more than they do typically) to see potential limits. The participant did very well because he was consious of his inebriation and able to work around it, would the same be said if he was just that much higher?

I did it for years (purely because i was addicted and couldn't go without cannabis daily) and yet ive never had a crash, been caught speeding or been pulled over.

I did a chainsaw course last November - it was the most physically demanding thing I've ever done (and I am pretty fit) and ended up crashing my car one of the mornings because I was so tired and impatient.

I do not condone operating vehicles while on mind altering substances, but the first time I rode a motor scooter while high was an amazing experience. My motorcycle helmet made me fee like an astronaut, and everytime I flicked the sun visor down it was like being on a space mission. The night lights were simply stunning, and reaching a red light where the visor would come up again were nice moments to take a break from the intensity of it all.

I'm watching this while smoking and just realized I have Wilson's book staring at me in my room from years ago. The ultimate classic car book. That was odd

I am a longtime daily cannibis user. I cannot drive high. I get paranoid, everything grabs my attention, I have trouble focusing on the road and am likely to cause an accident. I have absolutely no business being behind the wheel of a car. I certainly cannot be the only one who gets this way when they get behind the wheel after smoking weed. Some people can handle driving high and some can't; just as some people can handle driving drunk and some can't. Driving high is one of those things that is dangerous for enough people that it has to be prohibited for all people; and smoking and driving has to be treated the exact same way as drinking and driving.

A spliff, a long backroad, and some doors. Makes for a groovy night.

Only times my mama told me "you drove very well this time, son"... I was stoned

I drive while high, after a bong which hits even harder, I feel like it varies person to person but if you can control your nerves and worries there’s no difference to me, just more enjoyable driving

I dont have a problem driving while stoned, I do however have a problem being stoned and facing people, or going to meetings or to the gym...because I get shy and paranoid...so I only leave it till the end of the day when I'm done with work and when I dont have to meet anyone or go anywhere...

I made a similar discovery the other day, after four tubes of glue and half a bottle of vodka, my car did ninety miles an hour in neutral, with the keys in the fridge. My driving was unimpaired.

I only once tried marijuana, just once. I felt my heart beat in my head, full on sweating and hungry as hell. Scared as shit, took my bike ended up 80 kms away from where i live and apparently bought meals for 5 people and ate only one. The next morning i woke up in a road side hotel, To this day i dont remember driving there and whom i bought the food for.

The only time I ever had any trouble driving high was when I had to serve to this girl that lived in a gated community. I kept typing in the apartment number instead of the code for the gate she sent me💀

I play a lot of racing sims, both rally and circuit and I can say, I crash less and get better times, when stoned 🤗 I don't just get skilled or something, but I'm more concentrated, which brings in better results.

Someone who doesn’t smoke alot and drives while high can 100% cause an accident. But for the most part they aren’t fatal. Alcohol is the real killer.

Yeah alcohol is definitely fucked, before corona i used to drive around to places while inebriated but on the rare occasions that i do drink amd then try to get home i try really hard to focus but it doesnt allow me, alcohol is wack foo.

Jeevsub Yeah even being buzzed, but its better not to because sometimes you might just crash because of chance not the alcohol. But if you have it in your system you can be fucked legally. Especially if you injured someone

I was a typical boy racer when I was in my late teens and early 20's. Driving while stoned was the only time I'd drive sensibly. I'd be driving down the road and look in my rear view mirror to see a queue of cars behind me, then look at the speedo to see I was doing like 25mph in a 30 zone. I didn't drive slow because I was being overly cautious, I drove slow because it just felt nice.

Yes same here. I am incredibly easily frustrated while driving, especially during the day when I'm driving alongside many other humans who seem to have no idea what's going on. I used to have to smoke before driving or I'd lose my mind and become a liability

Extra ready reflexes, and music feels much better, no speeding because everything is calm and peaceful

To me these tests hardly simulate what it takes to drive a car savely. Like I could most likely do these drunk quite easily, as they mostly test your muscle memory. Safe driving mostly takes awareness though, like checking rear mirrors before each turn and such. That being said, I do believe that generally driving stoned is safer than driving drunk. Being drunk causes overconfidence, which translates to carelessness in the context of driving. Weed on the other hand causes (mild) paranoia, making drivers more afraid of having an accident and thus more careful.

Once you get a tolerance to it, there's nothing dangerous about driving on it. Maybe if you eat too many edibles

100%. I've been driving for 10 years, more than 50% of the time I've been driving I''ve been high. Never had an accident. When you are a regular user with high tolerance you're usually good to go. If my tolerance goes down and I get too high, I wait some hours before hitting the road.

If it's your first few times, that's when you're not even close to understanding how you are high but if you're used to it, you understand yourself and it's no difference. I've driven for a long time, never got into an accident.

@noxxi knox That's the greatest difference between smoking weed and drinking before driving. Drinking makes you cocky and not understand that you are not capable of driving. Being high, you are aware of your highness and your capabilities at the moment. If you feel too high you simply wont drive.

My man. I do VR flight sims after smoking. I can land a f16 high, I sure as fuck can't do it drunk. Same with GT sport in VR. I get better lap times stoned because I can lazer focus on every detail of the car and my surroundings. When I'm drunk I end up pitting the other driver on accident lol.

Kid had a fuckin late model tuner make his iracing setup. Long story short my high ass destroyed him so bad he pulled into the pits and left. It was his own hosted race too lol.

Same here. I'm at A+ and rarely out of the S safety rating in GT sport and do 90% of my racing while high. I just find it so much easier to get "in the zone" after a smoke. A few months ago I had some friends around. We were drinking and I decided to "show off" my racing skills in the daily races. I completely destroyed my ratings.

*regular user is they key word* you get a tolerance build up and can get effected differently. you can also learn to be aware of how impaired you are. the main issue would be how aware/awake you are as well as reaction time. differences can be minor but still be present.
