    Actually in American coin op pool tables I've never seen a table that uses a magnet for the cue ball return. Instead the cue ball is slightly larger than the other balls and is returned to a different spot on the table.

    For my pool table (Dynamic 2) I have all three sets of top pool balls: Aramith TV Pro Cup, Brunswick Centennials and Cyclop TV edition. I have to say all three plays fantastic, but maybe I have a preference for Cyclop, which play beautiful, except the cueball which a little bit "dead", it loses the side pretty quickly. So I use Aramith cue ball with Cyclop numbered balls: great combination! :-)

I was thinking of buying the snooker 22 ball set but do I need to if i have 2 boxes of pool balls containing reds with other colors for example their Aramith black and red set and red and blue set.

    It depends on the size of the pockets. If you're used to playing pool on your table with standard English 2" balls then you can set up a game of snooker with a 2" Snooker ball set quite happily. If your table has pockets that are a little smaller then you may find that potting the larger balls becomes a lot more difficult.

    Nice info, really the only sets for good players should be Aramith Pro, Centennials or Cyclop with a different cue ball for a non-coin op table. Weight and size are better matched. Standard Cyclop ball reacts funny and has a deep milky clear finish that most players do no like, so it gets swapped out.

  • @HomeLeisureDirect

    All those sets are definitely at the top end of the pool balls you can get, but that's not to discredit the regular Aramith sets if you're practicing or playing at a local league level or just casually. Glad you enjoyed the video!

    Should I purchase the smaller snooker balls to play on my American pool table?

  • @HomeLeisureDirect

    @HomeLeisureDirect

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Mason, It's best to use 2 1/4" size balls, as this is the height your cushions are designed for. If you choose smaller balls the bounce of the cushion will be poor as the ball will be hitting under the tip of the cushion. I hope this makes sense! You can buy 2 1/4" size snooker balls on our website here: www.homeleisuredirect.com/pool-table-accessories/snooker-balls/2-1-4-aramith-snooker-balls-22-ball-set.html All the best.

  • @HomeLeisureDirect

    @HomeLeisureDirect

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Vic, Thanks for your question. It's not about the balls, it will be your technique. It's about timing the shot as you push the cue through the cue ball and follow through, that will give the spin on the ball. Also make sure you have keep the cue flat and have a good quantity of chalk on your tip. This video will help you further too: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXubsK-jmdCWYto.html All the best.

    Are there any other games you can play on a UK pool table aside from the standard pool game? Like how Americans have 9 ball.

  • @HomeLeisureDirect

    @HomeLeisureDirect

    Жыл бұрын

    Honestly, you can play most games on an English table if you're just looking for more to play and don't mind some changes in game dynamics. For example, whilst Snooker is traditionally played on much bigger, 12ft tables, it's one of the most popular games played on an English table. Same with 9 ball (when using UK sized spots and stripes. You can even get diamonds suitable for the size of UK balls) Your returns may diminish if you're looking for means to practice at the competitive level, but there's definitely lots to try.

    The only way I would use Cyclops balls on my Gold Crown I with Simonis 760 is if some ancient Greek, one-eyed giant stole my Centennials. Then there'd be Hades to pay. Let's just say Cyclops balls and Diamond tables deserve each other, and that's not a complement.
