What Are The Best Juggling Balls for Beginners? jugglingsecrets.com/what-are-...
So I bought a few different sets of juggling balls to review for you. I've been juggling for around 23 years and have juggled so many different things it's crazy.
But, it always comes back to a good set of juggling balls. So today I reviewed a few different sets.
Duncan Juggling Balls - Pack of 3
These were the cheapest option out of the 3, and you can tell. The stitching isn't that good on them and they are a box. However, they are under $10 and work fine for those of you just looking to learn.
I have a feeling that these will be the first to rip because the seems are a little loose compared to the others. They also aren't perfectly round like the others so when they land, they sometimes hit the edges and bounce a little weird.
It's not a deal-breaker, but it is worth noting.
3 Balls + 3 Scarves + an Instructional DVD by MisterM / The Ultimate Juggling Set
This was a good buy because it came with both balls and some scarves. It also comes with a DVD, but who uses DVDs anymore? My computer doesn't even have a slot to put them anymore.
For the price point, the balls are good. They are the 2.5-inch set, weigh 4 ounces and don't roll away when you drop them. The quality of these is night and day difference between the Duncan balls and you can tell.
The scarves are pretty average and nothing too special, but I'm not really a fan of juggling scarves.
Higgins Brothers Juggling Balls
These are the best buy in my opinion, but the price is a lot higher than people will be comfortable with. The quality is even better than the MisterM balls and they are larger.
These juggling beanbags are hand-stitched to ensure the quality of the seams and eliminate breakage. These have been strength tested by running them over with a car, although it's not recommended to try that. Their strength and quality make these the best juggling balls that will hold up to the most demanding of jugglers in a variety of indoor and outdoor juggling conditions.

I've learned to juggle using cheap russians I've bought for around 8 dollars, so I don't think the initial choice matters as long as someone wants to learn and practices. Looking for an upgrade now, this video was very helpful, thank you!

I learned to juggle on baseballs because I got them for free the only downsides are they hurt the wrists more than normal juggling balls and they bigger and heavier so it's hard to hold alot in ur hands and if u hit urself in the foot or something they hurt

I’m a 64 year old beginner juggler and can throw up to 20 times on a good day. I originally started with hacky sacks but they began losing their beads (or whatever those little gray pebbles were). So I received my Duncan balls yesterday and then watched your video. I agree they are not uniform, kinda boxy, and I weighed them and one was off by 0.1 oz. Just checked the stitching and noticed a hole in the seam. I’m going to ship them back to Amazon and check out the other two options.

it's crazy how much of a difference the balls make. You'll notice when you get the others. You'll have fewer times where the balls hit and bounce all over. Congrats on 20 throws/catches! Pretty soon you'll be up to 100+

A vos balles !

buying the more expensive ones is rough at first because they are pretty expensive for just "juggling balls" but the quality holds up after years. At this point i'd rather spend a little more to get higher quality stuff than have to replace the less expensive ones 2-3 times.

My favorite is the Higgins Brothers, amzn.to/2YjQhsh they're almost identical to the ones I grew up using from 8 yrs old on. They were a little harder to use for juggling 5+ balls until I was about 14 though because of my hands being a bit smaller. But for beginning and even up to 5 balls the higgins brothers balls are like the perfect size.

If you want beanbags, I'd check out Juggling Warehouse. They have some pretty good beanbags at a decent price. I'd go with either the Taylor Tries set (smaller) or the Josh Horton set (larger). I'd also recommend getting at least one or two more just in case you ever want to step up to 4 or 5. If you want to spend some money, I think Flying Clipper has the best beanbags out there, but they're around $13-$15 a ball (not really beginner friendly). If you want russians (plastic shell partially filled with sand), Renegade Juggling carries Radfactors and they are fantastic. However, beanbags are probably the better route unless you've tried russians and know you like them.

Reverse cascade is still not working for my brain... I can do 2 in one hand, either columns or fountain, but not too consistently. Started on four-ball async fountain with a record of about 12 catches.

Also I got new juggling balls. Twice! The Higgins Brothers ones are indeed much better than Duncan; they started showing some wear and tear (my fault, I dropped them on concrete a bunch of times!) so I switched to twelve-panel ones from Renegade. And stopped practicing on concrete.

@@kaylazx for the reverse cascade, try to practice it with just the ‘flash’ cycles. Where you only do 3 of the throws in reverse and then stop, then repeat. That *might* help with your brain and muscle memory to refresh and re-register the new pattern.
