Hi....😭 I bought a female betta a couple days ago and I Really could use some help. It seems the pet store employees don't really care about the fish and I feel there's nowhere to turn to get the right advice!! Firstly, I just added fish into a new 2 gallon tank with a few live plants , sponge filter and aquatop 15W preset 77 heater that doesn't seem to do it's job at night when it's cold. I didn't know to cycle the water or whatever so it's half former tank water of balloon mollies, guppies and female bettas. I bought: 2 balloon mollies, 2 guppies and 1 female betta. The other portion of water is tap water and I put 8 drops of conditioner. Yesterday I decided to return all the fish besides the betta. The water seemed to have evaporated as well as some missing when I transfered other fish back to store. (Sorry for the drag on) 1) what do I do about cycling at this point? I LOVE THIS FISH and want it's best. It's curious and eats...so it seems OKAY. 3) i've tried 2 heaters already. Any recommendations??? I'm desperate to keep water warm for fishy at night asap and no more trial and error:(( 4) what do i do about the missing water :*/ I want to fill it up and i also don't know whether to listen to one person saying "wait for a month before messing with the water" & Another saying "replace 20% of it every week 3rd person" change water now and clean everyday. Like WHAT?!?!?!.!? 😵😵HELPppppppp💖pleassse 2)

From someone who has had bettas for over 20 years- it’s so nice to find you tube channels that show people the proper way to care for these beautiful fish. Like so many people - I started out with one betta in a little plastic tank- I now have 7 betta tanks - and I think a fish room is definitely in my future- lol. Love the videos- keep them coming!

My fish room is almost done and it'll be specifically catered to bettas! Once it's done, I'm buying a new one from these guys. I trust their care in their fish. ♥ I'm obsessed with bettas, I have a betta tattoo on my forearm. :D

I would love to see a video explaining more of the genetics side of things explaining colors, differences, what characteristics make it called a specific type beyond tail type. Like what specific differences are with bettas labeled as koi, galaxy, or nemo. Many places or people use different names for the same coloring. There are SO many different names for specific colors. A lot of pet stores have bettas labeled as being a very specific thing such as a "lunar flare" or "stars and stripes" and have an extreme mark up on them.

I've been a community tank girl for 30years but never went near betta's. 6 months ago i was looking after one that was just in the poorest condition. It was with your help we made it work. Now i have 5 boys. 😊

I have a pineapple plakat dumbo betta. He has beautiful white fins, and his tail has a white outline. He’s so cute, I chose him from the LFS as he only has one eye. He arrived at the LFS with popeye which was too far gone to. He ended up losing the eye but is none the worse for it. He’s a feisty little thing. I have to tap sometimes on the glass for him to see the food but apart from that he’s loving life in his 30L tank all by himself 😍

My first betta unfortunately did not have the best life but thanks to your videos I have learned and I am willing to give an actual shot of keeping a betta soon but I was a fishbowl kid that's all you need to know

I loved being able to see the bettas and appreciate their types. When I first started keeping bettas they were mostly named based on tail shape vs. color so I was hoping for a better explanation on color variants. I googled as I watched to get a clearer understanding - these fish are all so beautiful 💞

My fave are the wild types and alien crosses, although I also love the nemos and galaxies , etc...I just appreciate the wild forms way more than the petstrore stuff you see all the time... My first fish was an albino corydoras named Speedy cause he swam so fast. I remember crying so hard when he died ... bettas are lovely animals, love the black samurai 😍

It's kind of a mark of how much things have changed over the years. When I was a kid, we'd go to the woolworth's and get goldfish for a few cents a piece.

These guys have shown me how to take such good care of fish and even helped me with sick bettas that I have rescued. Thank you so much!

My very first fish was a goldfish I won at a county fair, I was 4 and didn't know anything about it. My Grandma got me a 5 gallon tank kit when I was 5 and I had a couple of guppies for a while. I didn't keep fish for several years, when I was 14 I started a 10 gallon tank and had neons guppies and a common pleco, I didn't know anything about plecos, luckily he lived a long time in that tank and I upgraded to a 20 gallon tank and learned the value of quarantine. Anyway since then Bettas have become one of my favorites. I have a dragon scale betta now and am hoping to get a Nemo sometime next year

Thank for all the amazing fish and Betta content. With all your videos over the years I was able to set up a 29 gallon tank with a beta and other fish that has worked out wonderfully.

I just got my daughter a halfmoon betta but I just now cuz of this video found out he is a halfmoon HM super red . he looks almost the same as the one in the video . my daughter is 2 1/2 and she loves the heck out of him she named him "rusty" , he is her fist fish I am still trying to learn all that I can about him and bet ta fish to make him as happy as we can. Next step we have to do is get him in a lil bigger tank , but for now he is okay we are still looking for a new place and its a bit easier to have him in a 3g weeks don't have much room rn. But he loves wen she come up to the tank, first thing in the morning she comes and turns his light on and says "good morning rusty and kisses the out side of the tank lol (I try so hard to not let her do that but its just so cute) gives him a bit of food ( we have 5 different kind I let her pick one) and right be4 bed she dose the same and tells him goodnight and turns his light off he is right next to her lil bed. (We share a room) she thinks he's the coolest thing so glad I came across ur channel ! Thank you 😊 rusty thanks you too haha

Started with a betta moved onto turtles monster south american cichlids, now at 31 with a daughter I keep only wild betta biotopes and it took my 15 years of experience and further research to properly care for these fish. Bettas can be as simple or complex as you want them to be so long as you stick to the fundamentals of cycling heating proper tank size and diet. The betta family of domestic and wild species offer something for every aquarium keeper

Right now I have a pure black female half moon plakat and a bright blue female double tail (probably also halfmoon). The plakat is in a 55g community tank with tetras and the double tail is in a 10g of her own. They are both super personable and friendly.

I feel like beta fish are always labeled as beginner fish, but they need a lot actually, from a slow flow, heaters, plants. I love having my bettas close to a natural habitat, and having their fins looking healthy might be easy for a skilled fish keeper but the average person who shops in Petco/PetSmart might not take care of them as well. Even some decorations can be harmful to them. I have juvenile dumbo bettas so fins keeping fins looking new are a big thing for me 🤓

I really like the bettas with the shorter fins and the red color is my fav , so was really glad when I saw a red ones on you sight. But I do love all bettas.

That all white dumbo is a must have.

I remember having 3 types of Bettas when I first started, a blue/purple crown tail, blue white half-moon and a red veiltail Betta each in its own 10 liter tank

Do you think you'll ever get any grizzle color variations? Like the one that Bob Steenfott has/had? (I saw the betta in an older video so idk) He was sooo gorgeous - breathtaking!
