    Hey thanks for posting the video it was very informative. I just wanted to ask a question about when to start apply for scholarships because at the moment I am in my second last year of school but after that I'm moving to Japan for a year to go to a language school for a full semester. This will be out of my own pocket but after that year I want to also study a 4 years bacheol course for business administration. When is the best time to start applying for the scholarships for the business course?

    Most scholarships require an academic letter of recommendation. Those letters can be from faculty, teachers, or counselors.

    I’m an 8th grader and I didn’t really think about scholarships until yesterday when my teacher and I had a conversation about how when he was in school he wish he would’ve applied to more scholarships. I asked him if it would be a good idea to start applying now and he said yes but I have a question, as of right now I think I want to go to the university of audition university of Houston or rice university I choose these three collages because they have an “NROTC” program to train officers for the navy or the marine corps but what if I apply to get into all of them but I end up only getting a scholarship for another? Like if I get a scholarship but I choose a different college can I still use the money or is it pretty much gone?

    When you receive outside scholarships they go with you to whatever school you decide to attend. Merit or Institutional scholarships are offered from the school and can only be used at that school.

    Should I know exactly what school I’m going to before I apply for scholarships? From what I understand that scholarship will go directly to the school, but what if I don’t have a single school in mind yet? How do I still apply for scholarships/collect the money I’ve won from a scholarship?

  • @TheScholarshipSystem

    @TheScholarshipSystem

    Жыл бұрын

    You will put the school that you will "most likely" attend. After you are awarded a scholarship, the scholarship committee will contact you in the summer to verify/confirm which school you will be attending so that they can send the money to the right school.

    What if you apply for scholarships in high school, but the school you have them sent to doesn’t accept you, but another one does, then what?

  • @TheScholarshipSystem

    @TheScholarshipSystem

    You can confirm/verify the school after you are awarded the scholarship. Scholarship committees know that the school choice isn't final until May 1st, college decision day.

    I’m still a little confused on how we will get the money for the scholarships. Will they company or organization I get the money from hold it until the end of Senior year then I will have to confirm the school I’m going to?

  • @TheScholarshipSystem

    @TheScholarshipSystem

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes. If you are an underclassmen, most scholarships are cash awards. If you are a senior, they will hold on to it until just before enrolling in your 1st year of college. The organization will request the school's information and your student ID so that they can send the funds directly to the school.

    Scholarship money is usually sent to the school. The school will apply it to your direct costs (tuition room, board, etc). If there is money left over, they will issue you a refund and you can use it towards books, housing, food, travel, or other costs.

    It depends on the scholarship requirements. Some will say that it is only to be used for in-state schools, others for public schools, etc. Each scholarship has their own requirements. Most can be used at any school.
