Dover Street Market brings back Covid memories. I worked right across the street from there for 2 years at a hotel that housed shelter residents during the VIETNAM days of the Corona Virus. I feel you girl. I’m in Vermont currently but I lived in New York for eight years and I miss it daily. Currently in my area despite being rural, prices for apartments are very similar to New York City at this time. I’ve actually considered trying to find a place since the prices are rising so high here. What’s the point of staying at this point if I have to pay the same amount to live in an area where there’s nothing to do.. opposed to a city where there’s everything to do.

Best Books to read are anything by Eckhart Tolle. Everyone in the city would benefit from these teachings. A lot of people say they want happiness and detachment from material means detachment from ego. I feel New Yorkers are the closest to reaching this because material seems very difficult to attain and these teachings can get a lot of people focused on the right things. We tend to be so caught up with work & sometimes forget to enjoy life. My dreams & goals since I just became a new mom this year I aspire to be financially stable so I can provide my daughter the best quality of life & having a work life balance. People who are interested in raising a family or contributing to society for altruistic reasons generally don’t move to NYC or spend their energy on creating an interesting appearance. Hopefully, as they mature, they will focus less on themselves and more on making meaningful contributions in the world.
