I’m loving the 1950s instructional vibe with the narration.
I didn't believe in Innova's ability to make a zone, but the toro is really sick

I played a tournament in MN and a Toro was in my player pack. Love that disc!

Way more overs table on a backhand money on a forehand once u beat it in tho not sure i see the comparison with the zone besides its an approach disc
I bag the Anvil. As a predominantly forehand player, it gives me the feel of a fairway driver with the control and distance of a midrange.
Anvil, Saviour, and Culprit are also great OS approach discs. I have too many. Currently bagging VIP Anvil, Elasto Anvil, and SockiSlammer.
I personally rock with the tactic because I like the deeper rim for flicks and backhands. Os approach discs mostly come down to feel
Love your calm and analytic way of talking about the discs, please continue to do so it is both informative and interesting.
No prodigy A2 is wild coming from u
I really like the A2 from prodigy. Super over stable disc and super reliable/predictable.

A2 and A3 are my approach discs
Love A2 &3. Very shallow and comfortable for me. Very overstable and slow to beat in in 750g

A3 is goated
I think the A3 deserves a mention here. Flies like a harp or zone but has one of the greatest hand feels out there. I currently bag zones and bergs but I still love the A3

Hand feel is subjective, and something needs to be left out
I was just throwing my moonshine harp today and it was doing beautifully for me. I picked the harp just because I’m a Ricky fan
Viking Discs.... I think is the best company that hardly anyone bags. They have 2 for this Category - Nordic Warrior (less over stable) and Loki (more over stable). I got both in a starter set a long time ago- and I still bag the Loki- despite how much I have wanted to replace it. I watched Robbie C and was convinced to try a Pig. I bagged both the Pig and the Loki for awhile and found that I went to both discs for the same shots- and found that the Loki consistently out performed the Pig. Also, 50% of my bag is trilogy- so I went and tried the Harp. Loki beat out the Harp as well. Did the same thing against the Zone. I know at this point I'm partial to the Loki- but it beat out arguably the 3 most popular discs in this category. Would love to see you guys in Foundation do a video reviewing the Loki and some of other Viking Discs.
Surprised not to see one of the A series discs from Prodigy (A2/A3/A5 /Distortion) as well as the Justice. Feel like each of those are more popular than the Peppermint. Regardless this is a really cool video!
Spitting hot fire Trev, thanks for the quality stuff.
like this format going over the nuances between each disc
Looked like the zone flew the same as the Harp. Both in the level 1 for this demonstration. Curious why the Pig wasn't included considering its the OG of this category. It's been the super beefy, throwing putter of choice for a decade and a half now. Admittedly I've switched to the Toro though bc of the plastic selection.
I bet this was a fun video so shoot. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Trevor.
Hey just wanted to say that this video was excatly what I just needed because I finally have started enjoying throwing putters and now I'd love to level up my approach game in the bag so thank you for all your content and especially this video. I've been following you since covid time also nice form bro ✌🏻
Love the way you talked about the disc and then threw them multiple times. Awesome content. Keep up the great work. I’m very new and this is super helpful info. Really loving anything Foundation and Trevor. Yall rock!
Love the in-depth study. More please.
LOVE this video format. Very insightful.
Distortion is also great
I grabbed a zone and I have loved every bit of using it.
This made me want to try the harp. I love the zone too much to try the toro because I know I’d love it
I love the toro! It feels a lot like a zone but with a pretty different fade “shape” and you can’t beat that Innova plastic imo. The extra stability makes it pair perfectly my A5 too

I agree it has way less glide than a zone works better for my game.
The combination of the Kastaplast Jarn and Divergent Discs Golem has been my go to combo lately.

Jarn reminds me of the peppermint, would do you think?
@paulebell

Similar profile 🤷♂️ Imo the Peppermint is more Toro-like in flight, like it wants to get to the ground. Whereas, the Jarn is more Zone-like in flight, and I just prefer the feel of the Jarn and its wing-shape for its skip-potential.

Love my yarn!
I’ve had harps, pigs, a rhyno, A2’s, and an entropy. Once I went to the zone I quickly realized why there are so many attempts to recreate it. It’s plain and simple just the best approach disc there is. I also love that there are like 15 different plastics to pick from, gives you the option to find the perfect feel + stability combo. I love my ESP and Jawbreaker zones.

Subjective.
A2 and A1. Absolutely love these disc. No other molds like them.
Love this video man, hoping for more that breakdown similar “genres” of discs
Awesome video Trevor
Also, being able to enjoy Trevor without needing to tolerate Hunter is wonderful. Thank you for the extra content.
Thank you for the video. I prefer a combination of an entropy in this slot, and a caiman for longer distances. Definitely enjoy throwing both on forehand flex lines.
great video, I would love to this become a series with all the different speed discs
Love the breakdown. Look forward to seeing fairways and drivers
Love to see a tactic and anvil in this mix! Good video
I’m a big fan of the dga quake. Love how useful it is for me.
This man is doing god's work
I'm loving the suspect now! I got a sick chameleon one. Flys like a zone!
Zone is the best disc ever made so any mold shaped like it is gonna be pretty good.
I did like this comparison video and will now go watch the throwing putters one- which i meant to watch anyway.
I really liking the DD Culprit.
Professor Trev getting serious today in The Lab™️
The Axiom Tempo went into my bag as my goto approach immediately after my MVP Cicuit Challenge event. The MVP Entropy now is a utility for when I need that extra OS to get out of a pinch.
A2 and A5 from Prodigy. Those two are a perfect couple.
Glow champ toro! One of the best discs I’ve ever bagged! It’s a super stable rat. SOOOOO GOOOOOD!
Great series
Nice upgrade to the lab!
This was so helpful! I’ve been needing a new approach disc since my tactic is really beat in. Sounds like I need a toro and a zone maybe?
You should definitely make more of these videos 🔥🔥
Love the Toro! You should give the Goliath Discs Pillar a try.
Harp has been a staple in my bag for years. Never tried the others, but the harp is just so dependable, i VERY rarely thrown a bad shot woth mine.

The harp is great, then I tried the zone. Flies pretty much the same but feels better in the hand especially for forehands.
I may get hate but the ring/zone is by far my favorite approach disc.
I've thrown all these utility disc you mentioned. But honestly, the Cooperhead, Harpoon, Artemis, Horny Toad, and the Walker are the best for forehand approach shots, or short scramble shots. 100ft - 250ft. If you gotta carry over water, the Victor plastic in 166g - 174g will ensure you don't kiss your disc goodbye, as they all float in that V plastic (available for Cooperheads and Harpoons). I think LSD got it right on that front.
Had a tournament one day and lost my Zone while practicing before the first round. Went over to the retailer who had a table set up and asked if he had any Zones, as it's a staple for me, and all he had was a Jarn, so I bought it, and boy did it perform well. If I wasn't such a Zone lover, I'd have kept it I my bag. It's nearly identical. Maybe a tad less stable, so I was able to push it put before the predictable fade.
I use the zone OS way more than the regular zone. I have a hard time with touch flicks, so the zone OS makes it easier for me not to blast it past the basket.
PYRO by Axiom! A wonderful feel for FH approaches!
Agreed! Stable mids for the next lab episode
Harp and Tactic. Those two are my ride or dies!
It'd be really cool if you mentioned other discs that were similar to the ones that you tested. It'll be really cool to see all of the major approach discs categorized into your three categories. You could even offer a spreadsheet or a Google doc as a lead generator. Obviously people can look at flight numbers, but that doesn't really tell the whole story. Coming from somebody with a ton of experience in different discs, I think that you could provide a lot of value this way.
I tend to bag one of my beat-in Harps or Tactics and then a Peppermint, since it’s even more beefy.
Toro is phenomenal I bag it, a zone and a zone OS. All for different shots Go for moderately overstable midranges next
Enjoyed this one. Would be curious to have heard how the Kastaplast Jarn fit into this conversation.
Harp hucker here. I got the discraft battle pack and I don't think either of them or the reg zone will replace it
I throw Harps, they are super comfortable and trustworthy for my arm speed and skill level. A word of warning for those looking at the Slammer though, get a stock stamped one. Anything that says Sockibomb on it is not the same disc. The Sockibomb Slammer is much more over stable. But you could bag a stock Slammer and a Sockibomb Slammer to get the best of both worlds.
Rpm kea is the most underrated disc, maybe ever. If you like the a4, get one. Feels the same but flies like an a2.
I like the jawbreaker zone personally but really want to try some clash discs. I can just never find them in stock anywhere.
You gotta show love to the A2 from prodigy
i love my Järn from KastaPlast!
Axiom tempo is the best shallow overstable approach disc. Basically a very stable envy.
Hey Trevor, Thank you for your video ! Very interesting. I have a little question, have you tried the Mint from Clash Disc ? It is less overstable than the Peppermint but is it close to a Zone or a Harp or is it even less stable than them ? Thank you in advance et best day to you sir !
The Toro really is just so reliable. It’s flown the same much longer than my Zone🤷🏽♂️
Hey Trevor, I just watched a Bodanza video where he mentioned parting line of discs and how it's an indication of how stable a disc is. Was wondering if you could do a lab chat for us where you explain what makes discs stable/understable, what those terms even mean, and how to tell just by holding or looking at a disc. Pretty sure lots of us would be interested in learning!
A2 gang represent
That desk looks a little wobbly, my man. LoL. Great information in this video.
Lone Star has the Copperhead and Artemis. I carry both.
Graphics are great too
on the road to 20K. I believe!!!!!
Would love to see you toss in the Mint Profit.
Thought space temple is worth a look. Not in a premium plastic yet, but has held its overstableness even after getting beat in. Plus being soft it sits well.
Temple from thought space athletics. It's slightly more OS than the Zone out of the box, rubbery base plastic, and amazing hand feel. Hits and sits where it lands
My OS approach lineup is an eclipse Envy, Latitude Savior, and a Zone OS. I’ve only been playing 1 1/2 years, so I consider myself a beginner..but the Zone OS has COMPLETELY changed my upshot game. I’ve made 4 70+ ft wooded upshots on a heavy anny FH or BH that had to wrap around trees and then fall flat into the basket. It’s predictable in any wind. It’s impossible to turn over.
You need to bag the Toro! You threw it very well consistently.
I got that same harp
Trevor what are your thoughts on the entropy
I bag an entropy by mvp, similar to the harp but i like the handfeel better Do a second part Trevor. Entropy justice mutant etc 😁
I have had a zone in the bag since day 1 and hasn’t left the bag since
I’ve been trying to make the zone work but I early release it so often. Hoping my hands will get used to it.
Whatever song is playing in the background is maddening lol
Good choices, I would’ve liked to see you throw the Pig too.
Duuudde! What about the TSA Temple? DD lucid x Culprit is incredible as well?
Zone and slammer has been some of my most reliable approach discs in my bag. I do toy with the OS but boy is she dumpy!
A2 ALL THE WAY!! 😃
I bag a pig, Gator 3 & I recently acquired a Calvin Heimburg Champion Toro. I haven't thrown it a lot, but it's definitely beefy! 🐂🐮
Shame you didnt have the razor claw 3 in here
It's crazy how many of these there are now. I'm old enough to remember when pros thought Zone type discs were clunky and useless. Maybe a future vid with Tactic, Jarn, Horny Toad, A2, A3, Stego, Baobab, Pig, etc?
If you like approach discs, I highly recommend a 500 A2. Mine has been in my bag for ~4 years and it hasn't broken in at all. Just beef. It's great.

I’m settling on the A2 as well. I’ve been playing with this category a lot this year and the A2 now spends the most time in my bag.
Should point out that the og slammer and socki slammer are different molds
I would love a breakdown of the hand feel. As a Harp thrower I am struggling to trust this disc in headwinds and the zone is just too shallow. Any suggestions?
Where does the Tactic fall similarly to?
I bag a A2 and a Zone I’d be curious how the Zone OS compares to the A2 🤔
