Thank you. He's been too hard on himself, especially considering it's a situation out of his control. He's also been good in the little time he's spent on the court. If you want true worst bust in history, look no further than Anthony Bennett.

That’s why it’s difficult to really give him the bust label as his career basically ended before it even began. I could only imagine that if he had stayed healthy he could’ve had a solid window at least until 2013 but if the league still transitioned into a three pointer league and Oden hadn’t developed a jump shot he slowly would’ve faded away.

Say whatever you want, Greg Oden will never eclipse Anthony Bennett as a draft bust by a mile. UNLV's 'Tony B' was as healthy as a healthy as a horse 🐎 and scored 0 points in his first five games. Oden's first fove games looked relatively solid 🪨

Greg Oden had hope and showed flashes of greatness here and there. His body failed him-repeatedly-at the worst of times, effectively dooming his career. Bennett showcased no such potential, and Cleveland immediately became a laughingstock for picking him FIRST. OVERALL. Never mind selecting pretty much the biggest bust in NBA history over a HoFer and a 3x DPOY...hell, even the guy drafted right after him went on to become an All-Star (poor Vic...injuries really are career killers)

Javaris’s story is just sad. He came from a city where gang violence are a norm, and despite his intelligence, his quick temper was the reason why him and Gilbert Arenas argue and pulls out guns in the locker room after losing thousands on a card game. And after his games overseas, he was suspended permanently. After that, it was downhill from Crittenton. His family shunned him, his friends never speak to him, and he was all alone. That is until he joined a gang that seals his fate forever. After losing to a friend on a drive-by shooting, he swore to avenge him against the gang rival. At night, he spotted a teenager who robbed him earlier. He pulls out a gun, but miscalculated the shot, hitting a pedestrian, Julian Jones instead, killing her. He was caught after that, and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

No matter what professional sport teams you get drafted to or you're a veteran player on that franchise team. It takes a lot of work to make a name for yourself to be a great player and become a legend one day. Not everyone gets a chance to make it to the NBA Finals, but I know it is worth it when you get your first or how many rings in the NBA. Everyone faces adversity but how you pick up yourself if up to you.

Everyone deals with depression and anxiety in different ways. Some are a lot worse than others. God bless you and your family and friends too. Everyone needs help but sometimes we don't ask for help because we think we can take care of it on our own, but reality is we can't. Don't be afraid to ask for help before it is too late. That was a raw, honest plug for BetterHelp. Thank you for sharing your personal journey. Struggles with alcoholism, depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses are not mine to share, but others who have touched my life have lived with these, sometimes for many years before getting help. For those who did get help, I am eternally grateful. For those who did not get help, I grieve and wonder what might have been.
