Is there not a way to do it where the concrete slab holds it and there’s columns holding the whole thing together so that you can make a whole constant one poor for your basement

Would there be any advantage to just under sizing the basement. So if your building was 60’ wide but the basement was 50’ you’d have the main building posts on the same foundation they’d be on with no basement? Any advantage or same same as far as structural or other avenues?

@@telleroftheone It's our plan either way. We have a small partial basement drawn up for some storage, utilities, and storm shelter, but no permanent living.

In a steal building could you get say 3 or 4 feet barried in the concrete? Or say weld it together? Would it make it stronger to go full length down like an anchor system using the weight and firmness of the concrete to anchor the top? Looking at doing a 60x80 or 50x80 with 15 foot on one end for a car port.

I want to do a basement with a post frame, but everyone you talk to says no you can't.. not sure why.
