What a Wonderful World was written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss and was recorded by Louis Armstrong in 1967. It was a hit in the UK, but not in the US because Larry Newton (the president of ABC Records) didn't promote the song because he didn't like it.
In this lesson, you will learn an easy chord melody arrangement of What a Wonderful World.

Thank you for this! It sounded pretty easy at first, but once I started to learn it I realized this is very challenging! This is great.

Everything you've been putting up has been gold. Have been working on the sentimental mood every day. This is like a counter to that- perfect chord melody. Your timing is absolutely incredible. Something you developed or just were born with? Thanks for all that you share.
What can I say? What a wonderful world! Thanks Dirk for a delicious arrangement.

Simply gorgeous. Going to learn this RIGHT NOW! Dirk, I would love to hear/learn a chord melody arrangement of Over The Rainbow. Is that a possibility? Thanks!

Hi. more jazz standard chord melody please
Hi Dirk, this is just excellent, the arrangement, the style of playing, thanks! Except of this, the sound of the guitar is beautiful, how did you achieve it (I know, everybody may ask this question :-)? I mean amp, modelling software, etc?

Thanks Peter! I play a Gibson ES-175 from 1973, a Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb, and in this video a TC Electronic Hall of Fame reverb.
Do you find it better to use all 5 fingers ? Would you consider worth learning ?
How are you keeping the open A's in bars 20 an 22 from ringing on? When I try palm mute it's too quiet.

Why not keep them ringing? That's what I do (maybe it's not so obvious in the recording).
