That's bullshit. I have a phone I got for 140€ (around 170$) with a capable CPU, 2018 Android OS, fingerprint and face scanning and compatibility with every other device I use. Also, Play Store, with all the apps I could need. 4G and VOiP as well. I am not missing the point, I get that the phone is trying to be simpler so you don't keep looking at it the entire day, but it should cost around 100$, charging people 300$ for a phone that would be barely passable in 2009 is fucking nuts.

Hong Yun Xu Yup. You’re 100% right. All the apps are ripoffs, run slowly, or are outdated. The ui is horrible. The only thing it’s good for is calls and texts. I’m getting one for my kid. He is 11. Good age to get a phone but not a real one.

Definitely like the intake on it and like the idea of it being nice and simple. Wouldn't say its worth $100 though...

The reason I love this channel is because of how genuine it is. He gives truthful and accurate reviews of the tech he shows and doesn't pander to the product's developers. And I appreciate that. A tech review that doesn't feel like an ad.

The concept is just great, I could consider getting a future version

In a couple of years it will be just like a smartphone

I really love the purpose of this phone as having anxiety disorder myself. Perfect for social media detox and the book when you look at the pages, they're very relaxing..

Light Phone 2 looks great! I love the concept especially the sales pitch as a second! If the cost is reasonable - it will be in my pocket when it’s out. Nice job as usual mate!! Great find.

It seems pretty cool. I like the minimalist style of it. Though I wouldn't consider it until the second one.

Yes! All I need is a music player, camera, large clock, and of course a phone that pauses the music when it rings. I don't want anything else, especially updates! I think you could do this without an updatable operating system, and there wouldn't be anything to hack.

I like that a lot. I just went a day and a half without my phone cus it stopped charging and did not miss it. Calling people is practical and having directions is also useful so I'd definitely use this if my carrier worked with it

Lets all appreciate it this man reviews many more thing rather than smartphones which no other channel did thumbs up Lewis 👍

i like this idea especially if the second version delivers. this would also be a good training phone for kids and teaching them to manage an early social life. i had a crummy flip phone till i was 15 and it definitely helped me to not rely on my phone when i got my first smart phone.

It would be awesome to be able to connect this thing to your Spotify account Then i would definetly buy it 🙈

Honestly I think the light phone is a great idea because I miss the times no one was stuck on their phones all day and not socialising, its sad, we arent enjoying life as much and missing out on times with friends and family so honestly it's the best idea I've heard in years and I'm all for it

The second version is actually interesting with what you mention but music as well.

I'm 21 and have never had a smart phone (a friend recently gifted me his old iphone 4 but I mostly just use that to listen to podcasts at work). I currently own an old blackberry style "burner" phone that I use to have 30 second conversations with people when I need to. The biggest appeal of this phone for me is the size; my phone, as small as it is when compared to recent smart phones, is still a little bulky, so this actually does meet what I'm looking for when it comes to phones.

I could see the benifits from using the “light phone” like going shopping or using it for the weekend. But I think the light phone 2 would be better with a camera And app to send it to your phone for later use if wanted.

Love the concept. Would be great with maps and messaging - and that's it.

I’ve been wanting this phone (the second version) for awhile now. I love the idea behind it and the design. I do think they need to include more features that are truly practical like a calendar and a to do list etc., but none of the distractions like Facebook. I could use my laptop or tablet at home for that. I have finally stopped my Facebook addiction and will never go back. Now if only I could get off of KZread, lol.

people are forgetting that there are watches out there that cost less than 10$. that have 3 days of battery life. and they have a phone built in! they are smaller than this, cheaper than this, and can do much more, while still causing you to use is as little as possible(try texting on that thing and you'll want to die). i use the DZ09. it has a shitty camera for emergencies, a phone, some simple apps(calculator, step counter...) and even has a browser! it has a microsd slot, that you can put music on. that watch cost me 10$
