What a sad day! Lifters have same marks as cam! Next: Oil Pump | Harley-Davidson Chopper Rebuild
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
How far is too far? Do we keep going? Do we stop when we don't find an issue?
We can see marks along the Breather Gear as well as same marks that line up perfectly on the Lifters as the Cam!
this is not a good day....

Love watching grunts learn.
I think it’s awesome that a dealer is willing to let this happen. And let you do the work showing viewers some really good information from a Harley Techs point of view. Thanks for sharing this process.
Great Content ...Not many opportunities to set in with a Harley Tech At a Dealership..Prop's to Larry and his patient's while explaining to you while learning ..Two very Humble Men .1 Learning While 1 Teaching ..Alot more is Being taught here than just Motorcycle repair ..Thank's so much for this Content Definitely going to save all it for future reference. Anybody that wrench's even a little on there own Evo or Harley would be a Fool not to if nothing more than for the lesson of the communication between these two men behind the rebuild..Looking forward to the next video in this series,,Awesome way to break it Down...✌💪
Going to have to get an Ornery One shop shirt!
Very interesting content man,I'm learning a lot here
Larry should be telling you a new motor is in your future.
Remember...Drain the oil tank, wash out the oil tank, repace the old oil lines, and add new engine oil & oil filter...'cause all that grit/dirt /crap that you've discovered so far, has circulated thru the whole system. 👍✌️🇨🇦
Bummer deal.... however, get it fixed the chopper is family . Sorry you guys are dealing with all this BS .
Really i dont think the marring on the cam lobe and the lifter are not that significant. It needs to be changed but not immediately. You could do this piecemeal.
Thanks for the videos! It's been a long time since something really got me interested and captivated! I'll bet your mind is in overdrive. Wishing you the best.
😢
Thank you for showing and explaining all this about your Evo. I have a 92 Evo that has a noise and I want to get into it and this helps me a lot.

I have a 85 Evo and it was knocking. I replaced the lifters and that was it. I took the old ones apart and cleaned them up. I'm keeping them as a backup. I also replaced the oil lines and flushed the tank. I also took the top off the oil pump and replaced the check ball and springs. Sprayed Seafoam in while I had it apart. I also have the original parts book which helps alot working on and ordering parts. Good time of year to work on them
Man been thru that tore up a lifter block one time. Ouch peace ✌️ one other thing I ave a you tube shoe Called The Unaffiliated would you like to be a quest?
This is why you try and not work on your motorcycle. Especially at a dealership or near a capable mechanic. You go looking for problems. Your gonna find them lol
This is the kinda shit that used bike dealers will pass off on you. So buyer beware. When i bought my bike i couldn't wait to tear into it. I wanted to see what was lurking in that motor.
Seems the dealer wants you to completely rebuild or a new bike, lucky the old mechanics with old vintage bikes don't try that, they know there are a lot more miles. Don't let him get a hold of your teeth hell rip them out.
There’s only one thing you can do… get her running right and back on the road
pull the engine out for god sake
