    Brexiters simply have no plan for a post Brexit UK. But since the vote is already made, now UK will be the first to show the way for other nations that want to leave the EU. If the UK doesn't get better off without the EU then other nations can still learn from UK Brexit experience.

    It would be fantastic if our remainer prime minister had a backbone from the start. Nothing wrong with the brexit principle. It means greatly increased trade with other countries from removal of EU tariffs, and proper control of our borders and many other things.

    Brexit in there eyes was about regaining complete political ownership and to hell with the economic implications for all brits. Trust me, Farage and Mogg will do ok from this but this country will take a while to find its feet in a WTO system. There will be no deal because no one wants to compromise because it stands to undermine the EU and the whole point of Brexit. As a country its our own damn fault. We get the politicans we deserve. This disaster of a negoitation doesnt say much for Eton educated folk.

    How about doing just one article on what a no deal means for French wine and cheese exports to the UK, German car industry, Spanish tourist industry, Italian food or Irish agriculture, what affect on EU fishing once the UK reclaims it's fishing grounds, how will the EU operate when it looses the world's largest financial clearing centre (London), how about sending some reporters to southern Europe so we can get a view of what EU austerity has done to their communities and what they think of the EU, what about an article on the massive political fall out going on right now in the European Parliment that could see the end of the EU, no didn't think so.

So 64% of the UK exports depends on the EU and all the rules changes, it will costs more, it will be a longer delivery and they loose competitiveness overnight. Most cars assembled in the UK need 60% parts from the EU27. They have the be delivered just in time and this works only within the EU single market and customs union. • @lh1690

    @lh1690

    5 жыл бұрын

    No it isn't, not unless it's really stupid and wants billions of £s of tariffs on its automotive exports. With or without the chequers deal, Frankfurt gets services jobs. But with the chequers deal it gets to continue exporting cars without tariffs or NTBs. With a no deal and a weak £, those exports will become very uncompetitive in the UK. This is why I say someone should do a, "What a no deal could mean for the EU," video. Because nobody has explained that yet and Barnier is leading them blindly into an outcome that will cost EU countries jobs. At least the UK will get to keep the tariffs it collects in a no deal scenario, whereas EU countries must give them over to the EU to subsidise the non-contributing members. So we have a financial counterbalance for any job losses aside from the fact we're a net importer from the EU and perhaps stand to gain more jobs than we lose anyway. EU countries will just get stuffed on jobs and stuffed on finances in the event of a no deal. Plus they'll have to pay the £40bn bill themselves and cover the loss of UK tariffs as well as our subscription fee.

The only good thing that might come out of brexit is Scotland might hold another referendum and declare their independence and Northern Ireland might vote to reunify with Ireland Ireland. TheEaglestar1 Ireland has been a single unit since Neo-lithic times. Artefacts from that period have been found in the North, in the Midlands and in the South. Even under English/British rule the Island was a unit. The Irish Parliament (though subservient to London) was in Dublin, not in Belfast until it was abolished by an Act of Union in 1800. The division of Ireland exists for only 96 years out of c. 4500 years of human occupancy. The unification of Ireland is guaranteed under the treaty of 1922 when and if the majority in Northern Ireland agree to it. We all need to make sure that when it happens everyone will be included in the re-united country.

What about the million people from the uk living in europe and cant get access to their pension after bexit? What about the 12.000 trucks passing the eurotunnel every day, how u handle that amount in a checks and stuff? What about the people who need to travel to the eu pretty often (because of jobs, families and so on)? What about the tons of fresh food u import because u cant produce enough on your own? Even most politicans who are for brexit never wanted a no-deal brexit they just expected to get a nice deal from the eu. And now when they see they cant get it they say: "then lets do a no-deal brexit" without having the slightest idea what that will mean to the people of the uk.

    *Either we want full single market access for goods and services, which means accepting Freedom of Movement, regulatory alignment and oversight by the ECJ. That's the Norway option. Asking the EU to budge on FoM will always end in failure, because it's one of the core principles it's built on. We can't ask to change the rules of a club we're poised to leave. Or we close our borders, have a Free Trade Agreement with the EU for goods but again accept "some" regulatory alignment and some ECJ oversight but only withing what's agreed of said FTA. That's Canada and will come with either an Irish sea border, splitting the UK because Scotland will want the same thing, or a border between the Republic of- and Northern Ireland, cancelling the Good Friday Agreements and likely starting The Troubles all over. Where this border comes the EU has left up to us. Or we close all our borders, refuse all regulatory oversight and alignment. And immediately cease to operate under our current agreements and treaties. Zero access to single market for either goods or services. That's no deal. This also comes with having to re-apply to the WTO, allowing us to trade on the world market in the first place which a lot of countries will be voting against unless we come up with some major concessions. Think giving Gibraltar and the Falklands back, forgiving a lot of debt, or worse. Or we cancel the whole thing and stay in the EU, hang our heads in shame on the world stage, and probably have to give some concessions like the Rebate, the opt-outs, or something like that. Which, considering the EU's standpoint isn't overreaching to ask if they want to send a signal to any other countries thinking of leaving. These are our options. We've all known this for 2 years now. Someone needs to bite the bullet and make a decision. Instead we are pleading with the EU for some mystical new way that will give us all the benefits and none of the responsibilities, then getting angry that our unrealistic demands aren't being taken seriously.*

The larger issue that they are addressing here is the type approval an Certificate of Conformity (CoC) interchangeability etc. in theory no new model past Brexit is by virtue of another countries estimate "street legal". Meaning crash test and evaluation etc. needs to happen twice (or UK passes a bill that operates 'as if') and the same goes for mundane things like the CE mark and more complex treaties like the freedoms of the air (a set of commercial aviation rights granting a country's airlines the privilege to enter and land in another country's airspace). That can all be dealt with though, it would just take more time than left if dealt with on an issue by issue basis and thus would require some transition phase. Democracy demands we do NOT have another referendum. We voted to leave the EU dictatorship and we meant it. Bilateral deals are the way to go.

    It was a mere coup in the UK. They didn't tell the public about the real consequences. Now, people have changed views. So brexit has to change into what it was. Those politicians have to answer responsibly to people's demands.

    The consequences of a no deal were all discussed and debated at length in the run up to the referendum. The people voted to leave without a deal all the same. So to keep debating something that has passed, is ridiculous.

    the more of a disaster this turns out to be, the more important it was for us to leave, we cannot let ourselves become totally reliant so therefore subservient on an expansionist anti democratic empire.

    Hebrides, Orkney and Shetlands and may be even Edinborough have a right of self determination also. Who said that Independent Scotland would have todays borders and why she thinks EU would be happy to take Scotland in? Scottish independence will trigger separations in Spain, France and Germany with Andalusia, Basc country, Corsica and Bavaria independence following example. UK need to grant same oversees status that Isle of Man and Channel islands holds to Shetlands and Orkney. That would make them very reach parts of UK indeed.
