I think this album was ultimately meant to be experienced as a whole, like a story unfolding. It takes on a different character when consumed as a full entity. I'd watch an album review! Many would probably watch you listen to the entire thing in one go. (I would) 🤭 Before this album's release, invitations went out for a listening party in London. Attendees gathered in a nondescript bar and listened the whole way through while what everyone assumed was a statue or mannequin in a Vessel costume faced them in a chair on a small stage to one side. When it was done the 'statue' stood, did "thank you" hand motions and walked away. It was Vessel apparently just wanting to watch people listen. To gauge honest reactions or to experience it through their eyes, who knows, but this band evokes some sort of second hand high watching others enjoy it for the first time.

I was meant to listen to the album in one go? Well... I've fucked that up then haven't I! 🤣😂🤣 I have said a few times (in my mind) I reckon one more blind reaction before I immerse myself in the album fully from start to finish. I've done this, The Summoning, Chokehold (via Will Ramos) so I guess the question is what should be the final track from this album? Preferably a live version if I can find a decent upload.

That's mental about the album pre-party thing and so frigging cool too! How surreal for Vessel and the fans (at the end). It's a bit like when actors sit in the audience at their own film premiers. But in an invisible suit.

Prog. It's okay to just say Prog. It's been around since the 60s and it's category hasn't broken into sub genres. which is why I love it

This is the third album in a trilogy that tells one story of heartache, despair, redemption, and acceptance. Additionally, there are EPs with quality songs, but most reactors seem to appreciate the EPs more after they heard the other songs. It truly is a three album masterpiece. It's also worth noting that the recordings is mostly 2 people. Vessel sings and plays almost all the instruments. and ii plays drums. They write the songs together. So if you feel like a truly unique experience I would start with the first track on Sundowning and watch the journey build as they mature. It's a journey I wish I could take again.

A band's band is a great way to describe Sleep Token. On top of them being Will Ramos' favourite band, Slipknot's singer has expressed admiration for them and Bad Omens' singer is a straight up fan. Great reaction, glad you're open to the twists, and hope to see more.

This track really gives you a taste of how diverse the album is. It was my album of the year last year. I love that they aren't a genre. They are everything. They are just so good at everything and especially making you feel things which is the most important part of music.

I can definitely see why you recommended this track after I did The Summoning. At least, I am 99.9% sure you did! 😆 I also really enjoyed doing this without having to visually concentrate or have my attention drawn away from the audio. Something I'm now really open to doing more of.

I'm in favor of album reviews, idk if anyone else showed support for that but it has my vote. Also has anyone pointed you to Blood Sport yet? It is off their 1st album and there is a version called From The Room Below which is live but it is just Vessel and a piano. It's beautiful.

You've watched my Hypa Hypa video more than me! lol I still haven't heard the Sleep Token album yet - I want to do one more reaction from the album before I then either 1) listen through the albums chronologically or 2) dive straight in to TMBTE. I'm inclined to go with the latter, despite it infuriating some of the die-hard fans, solely because I've already heard 3 tracks from the LP already. And by the time I do it, it will be 4/12 tracks. And then I'd potentially do some sort of album review if people want to see it. I don't think I can warrant (whilst my channel is still small) a full album reaction video, plus I'd need to be careful of copyright strikes.

So good lol I got into them from We Got The Moves so that's what I'm waiting for. Oh ok I just wanted to see where we stood. I heard TMBTE when it first came out and listened to the album all the way through then binged everything else they had to offer. I guess I'm a blasphemy to die hards also but we all get to the same point just different paths. I'm excited to see which song you pick. Idk if you have a front runner yet but there isn't a bad choice honestly. Their whole discography is honestly perfect. Only maybe 2-5 songs I can live without but that is every band.

The trilogy of albums is like nothing I've ever experienced. PLEASE listen to "The night does not belong to god" (the first song on the first album) before you listen to Euclid (the last song on the last album). Euclid is one of the most beautiful songs ever created. Worship.

All I know is that they’ve made music exciting again. I love the unpredictability of it all, even when it turns out there aren’t genre switching! That would tire quite quickly if it were every time. The industry and journalists always try to label stuff. Sometimes, just give up and enjoy it.

Whatever you decide to do as far as reactions/reviews I am here for it! If you do decide to just listen on your own I would start with EP1, grab a six pack of Stella’s, and just enjoy the next four hours of music, EP1, EP2, Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, and finally Take Me Back to Eden. . Or split it up lol. But it’s worth the investment! Regardless, I love your reactions!!!

I’m in the US lol. We do everything big 😳 A thought…put up a poll of the sleep token songs. Ask your subscribers to pick 6 or 8 or whatever and react to the top songs. Still do them in order but react to just a handful. Before each you could review the ones you listened to on your own. Just a thought. Or just fully enjoy them with two 4 packs…😂. regardless I am here for it!

100% yes! I know full well this is a band that divides opinion but my opinion is "fuck opinions and just immerse yourself in it". Yes, they dive around different genres and stuff, and it can be hard to follow at times, but that's what makes it fascinating.

There's a live version of them at red rocks in Colorado. I mean if it hasn't been taken down. I was there and wanted to hear it again and found the amazing full live set.

I think you pretty much nailed it. Sleep Token are a band that a musician would want to listen to because it's not just music that follows a formula, something you put on and half-listen to as you do other things. I think that's why so many actual musicians like and appreciate Sleep Token, from Will Ramos to Corey Taylor of Slip Knot to Dominic Howard of Muse. You never know what you're going to get song to song, so you have to actively listen.

I didn't want to sound like a musical snob or elitist, but I have been in bands, studied music production, played guitar for 25 years, made a few records etc. And I just think that helps you appreciate it even more so when you understand the complexities behind what they are doing. That is not to say that a non musician cannot appreciate this band, but the vibe I get from the fanbase and reading these comments, is a lot of Sleep Token fans are avid and open minded music listeners and fans of many genres and eras. I might be wrong. But that's how I perceive it.

@@melvinthinks You'd be surprised. The Sleep Token fans will show up to see someone experience the emotions of hearing their favorite songs for the first time. The album tracks build the story and band lore/themes and each album builds on each other, culminating in the last song of the last album connecting directly to the first song in the first album like a giant mobius strip. That was a lightning bolt to my heart when I heard it and realized it.

Certainly finish their newest album before going to the beginning. End of a trilogy, sure, but this album itself is a masterpiece and is their best work. All of their songs are great, but the earlier you go, it's less great. And I absolutely adore Sleep Token and haven't been able to stop listening to them for about a year and a half. Worship ❤

After you go through this album with a comb, go back and listen to Sundowning and TPWBYT albums, then come back to TMBTE. Youll have the full story, the full perspective. Its beautiful, and so sorrowful. #1 band in my opinion

This Song is so good for so many reasons. It grew to one of my favourites over time. For example, this Song ends with the first two lines of Chokehold, the first track on the album. And even though TMBTE is not the last Song of the album, it kinda closes vessels chapter imo. Theres so much to discover in the world of ST. The thoughts behind the songs and the album, the network of brainf*cks, the storytelling. It is one of its kind! But I have to say that I've researched a lot about the Sleep Token Lore. And it Blew. My. Mind! And I have to admit, I am indeed a curious person. And I am aware of the identidy of Vessel and the others. But before you (and all you others) jugde, hear me out. I was frustrated about myself because ky curiousity was to strong. I took myself the magic out of Sleep Token. That was what I thought a long time. But then, I realised, I am now Part of another ST Community, kinda a "secret club" and I learner about a new musician with a great past and an enormous amount of talent and great Songs, besides ST. And all the others who know about vessels identidy, follow one rule. Don't speak out the obvious. No one is saying that he or she knows, but everyone understands the comments without thinking twice. And to be honest, even Vessel left a hint on TMBTE (Album) about his identidy. I would have never figuered that out by my own, but it all makes sence. And I highly doubt that he wouldn't left a clue or two if he wouldn't want to figure it out by the Community. But yeah, either way, the Lore of ST is BRILLIANT! And I am glad I know his ID, and found through that, another great band with great music. Hands down, Vessel is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs! 🤘 Excited for more Sleep Token Brother. Btw. I have checked out Amyl and the Sniffers (a few days before your Reaction) and I have to say, I love their attitude and their lyrics. But the music itself is not exactly my cup of tea. But Dude is this woman a powerhouse, hands down, she seems like the kind of woman who is amazing to hang out with. Thank you anyway for the recommendation. Always open to new stuff 🤘

Honestly if you want to indulge in the full experience I recommend listening to all three albums in chronological order just trust me bro

@@melvinthinks A few creators have done all three records, you could do them as 3 long-form videos or split them up, I reckon you would get some decent views for it. Eden is full of Easter eggs from the previous two records and you will miss a ton, Euclid will not mean nearly as much to you without the context of the earlier records. it is like starting Star Wars at Return of the Jedi

I’d love an album reaction. I started with 45s but when I could finally afford an album it changed my world. There are some albums that can be listened to in one go and some must be. TMBTE might be better split up and digested if only for the payoff in Euclid. But then that means maybe listening to When the Bough Breaks and The Night Does Not Belong to God. I’m not trying to be weird but so many times I’ve seen reaction channels start from the beginning and I don’t think necessary. If you love the band enough you will do that anyway and if you make more connections along the way they will be just as awesome.

I agree. If a song is truly good enough then it doesn't matter what order or whether it's the 1st or 100th time you've listened to it. Sometimes I actually think you gain a little bit more when assessing and reviewing songs on subsequent listens. Some songs can be information overload on first listen, especially if you've got a music video too. I often find myself listening to a song after my reactions and saying to myself "Why didn't I say this!". Or "I wish I'd mentioned that". Usually whilst I'm editing these videos 🤣

Not necessarily a bit shit for me - more so for the viewer (sometimes) 😁. I really found that I was able to focus and immerse myself in this track and the audio when I wasn't watching a music video or live performance. This is the perfect band for it tbh.

Please do yourself a favor and at very VERY least you need to either react or listen to “The Night Belongs to God” before you do an album reaction. These first three albums tell one story listening to this album without context is line reading the last chapter of the book first.
