I’ve been celibate and have done SR for almost 7 months now. I only sleep between 3-4 hours a night if that. Usually 7pm-11pm then up with tons of energy. This stuff hold a lot of truth to changing yourself.

@@rslnhssn9 i have my moments throughout the day but usually a quick bite to eat brings me right back up there for energy. No stomach issues that i can think of. For under sleeping there are times i may have been forgetful when usually I’m not but also been going through a hellish divorce for a year and a half so that hasn’t helped things. My feet are planted in Christianity and traditional Western culture, but I've certainly been impressed by the way that brahmacharya and other sexual asceticism in various Indian religions are accorded traditional respect by others there that surpasses anything we see in the West. Indians tend to be quite open about their sexual lifestyles, and if a male associate abstains from masturbation or practices semen retention, tantric sexuality, voluntary celibacy, or brahmacharya, others tend to respect his devotion, regardless of their own practices. In the West, many would think him weird or even try to sabotage his chosen lifestyle.

Paul called for celibacy among Christians if they were able to; Orthodox Christianity also requires bishops (or above) to be celibates. So, sexual asceticism, and devotion to God, is very much appreciated and practiced by Christians; you just have to look in the right places.

@@mklein3564 I don't disagree with you at all. As a Christian practitioner of voluntary celibacy, I'm very familiar with the writings of Paul on this topic in 1 Corinthians 7 : 1-9. I commented above on brahmacharya because that was the topic of Joseph's video. I stand by my last sentence about "many" in the West, but it was not meant to include Christian attitudes toward Christian celibacy, which I consider a blessing, a privilege, a gift, and a calling.

@@pastor_labhpreet_paul Yes! We are called to be holy. ("Be ye holy; for I am holy." -1 Peter 1 : 16.) Single Christians should be celibate, and God blesses sex in marriage. I believe that He also honors any sacrifices that we make for him. While many are called to be husbands and fathers, I believe that he calls some to options such as lasting celibacy/total retention, and He blesses those who accept such voluntary callings. It has been my experience that I have become much closer to God after having accepted permanent celibacy/retention.

Keeping SR is ve very much possible when in a relationship. With a trusting and patient partner she can help you slowly build sexual energetic control up to the point that when climaxing you can send orgasmic energy up to the crown or to the heart AND all that while keeping the seed within. The breath, focused awareness and the capacity to deeply relax is a MUST.

Wet dreams usually occur after sexual thoughts. If u r thinking about sex during the day, there s a good chance u will have a wet dream. Here s some tips to combat them. 1. Stop eating late at night, especially heavy meals with lots of spices. They stimulate the nervous system and bring arousals. 2. Stop drinking water or any kind of fluid b4 bed because they cause arousals too. U can see it often in the morning when u wake up aroused and once u urinate, u r alright again. 3. Make sure u urinate b4 bed. 4. Try to wear loose underwear to allow free blood flow in the genitalia. Ideally, sleep with no underwear at all. 5. Try to distract yourself from sexual thoughts late at night. Do not surf on the net. Lustful women r everywhere online. KZread, social media etc. 6. Pray. Beg God to give u the power to overcome lustful thoughts. And more importantly do not ask whether they count or not as it s the wrong question. U will get different answers from different ppl. U have to understand that this is not a competition between men to prove ourselves better than others. It is an individual experience and u r only competing with your past self. Each time u have a wet dream, do not beat yourself up thinking that u failed or that someone else is doing better than u. Learn what u can and try to improve yourself next time.

The world needs good husbands and fathers, but celibates can and do often make major contributions to the betterment of society and of mankind in general. Furthermore, most brahmachari practice profound celibacy for 12 years (ideally beginning at puberty) and then are free to marry. Afterward, brahmacharya is defined as fidelity to marriage and family.

Simple answer: Yes! And would I knew it earlier, I would still stay one. Sex only gave me delusions, I was trapped in lust with a few girls, it gave me grief and depression aswell. I asked myself, what I was doing with my life. So.. if someone is virgin, better stay one until you meet the real love of your life. Lust is temporarily, for real. It gives pleasure of a few minutes but steals your life force.. If you reach 25 or 28 atleast and then get a girlfriend and lose virginity, this is all better than getting a sex addict with 14-15 years old..

If u r a virgin my friend u r blessed in my opinion. I wish I knew what I know now about the matter before I lost my virginity. Society is trying to convince u otherwise. In reality they r simply trying to entrap u into the spider s web like the rest of us. As a virgin I believe your main concern might be the fear of missing out. Trust me u r not missing anything but a few seconds of pleasure that lead to misery and sex addiction. I m not trying to convince u to remain virgin for the rest of your life. Your life is yours. But u have an advantage over the overwhelming majority of men out there. U can use it wisely and see what u can get out of it. Don t fall into the trap of instant gratification. It s a path of misery and sadness. I strongly advise u, if u masturbate to stop immediately. Keep your private sex life to yourself and try to purify your mind. U can literally become super human.

I've been doing it for over 3 years now and have reached the point where I am now considering taking another path. While I have enjoyed most of it and gained much insight into myself I feel the challenges also increase the longer my streak is. I'm approaching five years solid retention (as of the end of 2023), so I understand. However, whenever I think of "taking another path," I then ask myself "Why would I do that?" I used to alternate back and forth between long streaks of retention and times of porn-free fapping in moderation, and my conclusions after doing that was that I was trying to have it both ways, but that nothing was more fulfilling than extended semen retention. After some serious thought on all of the implications, I knew that I was both ready and eager to go permanent with it. I've never regretted my decision, and I seriously doubt that I'll ever go back.
