What $1500 will REALLY get you in NYC | My Studio NYC Apartment Tour | Vintage-Inspired Space

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Step inside my vintage-inspired NYC studio apartment! This is an up-close look at my 250 square foot studio apt that I pay $1500 a month for. By NYC standards my studio is pretty big and a good deal. What do u think? • • • ⇩ • • • OPEN FOR MORE • • • ⇩ • • •

This video has been in the making for a while now but it's finally finished! I hope you all enjoy this tour of my tiny but cute studio apartment. I always love watching YT videos of people's apartments in big cities where they show you what you can get for your money. But I feel like some of them aren't totally honest. So I'm showing what you can HONESTLY get for $1500 a month living in NYC. Do you think I'm paying too much, or am I getting a good deal?? I'd love to know what you think of my decor and studio size in NYC.

Very popular over here in my corner of Europe. In mid 2000s it was popular to make everything light brown. Now it's all white, super minimalistic and sterile. I need an accent color and darker tones. That's why I rented a pretty looking, well balanced and nicely designed apartment. It's a rarity.

I know you realize how lucky you are to have this apartment. Not only is it a large "studio", but to have the defined kitchen and the dressing room to make it seem like you are moving into actual different rooms. To get a sofa and a full size bed and still have room to walk around is pretty amazing. I love the vintage feel of the bathroom - the old tub and the curved surround of the shower is great - even with the "updated" tile. Wish they had stayed with something vintage, there, as well. $1500 seems like a lot until you see other options in other areas - and you are close to work and transportation! Really nice.

Nice place. NYC has cheaper rentals now, in Manhattan, for $1k and $1.3k. Many people have moved back to suburbs and out-of-state and they need people to rent those spots. I could not believe seeing a decent size studio in Manhattan for $1,300. No bathtub though, but everything looked new.

Lol I was just about to point out the “koreatown” thing when I read her description. Sunset park is considered Brooklyn’s Chinatown especially if you are near 8th ave. The whole strip is Chinese. Actually when you said koreatown I was really surprised because that part of Brooklyn doesn’t have many Koreans or even restaurants. You call it an apartment complex, back when I lived in Brooklyn it was called a three-family home. I lived in a two-family home for 18 years; we had the top floor. It was a cold flat (meaning no central heating). We heated our place by using the stove that had an attached heating unit. Our rent was only $60/month. The landlord raised it to $85 after he installed central heating that was mandated by NYC. I loved that place.

This place is so cute! I always pictured New York studios being tiny little living room sized apartments without anything sectioned off like the way your kitchen is. In Texas, I paid $525 a month for a studio with a huge walk in closet, bathroom and kitchen sectioned off. It wasn’t the nicest place but now I’m in a 2 bed, 2 bath with washer and dryer included for $860 a month. Crazy the world of differences that region brings

I love how you decorated your apartment. Even though it's been two years since you uploaded this video, rents in the suburbs were pretty comparable or higher. If you want to live in the Big Apple, you have to sacrifice space. If you want to live in the suburbs, you're going to pay about as much or more plus you will probably need a car. You made the most of your place and you did a fabulous job. I live in a house and I go to the dump's Take it or Leave It shop for plastic storage units for the basement and garage and to Goodwill for bargains.

There is nothing nicer than collecting objects and furniture that has had another life! I have collected this way since I was young in the eighties. Vintage to me is anything from the 60s back ( back then they called it ‘second hand’ and was frowned upon). I find it strange that my daughter is wearing my clothes from the eighties and calls them vintage. It seems like yesterday to me😂😂 and little does she know is a lot of those clothes are older than that and I’m so glad she wants them. You have a beautiful home. I wish you health and happiness to enjoy it. I like nothing better than championing the young to be independent in living and mind. ❤️ Thank you for sharing because this pandemic has isolated a lot of us and it’s a way to visit others homes if only through the lens. ❤️

That’s an amazing price to live in New York! I think a lot of people forget that you’re not just paying for the living space you’re also paying for the location, for example in Kentucky (where I live) we don’t have a big demand for our location so houses are cheaper. So with $1500 a month in Kentucky can get you a two story, 4 bed maybe 5 bed, 2 bath, and decent sized kitchen and living room, but in places like New York, Florida, and California you’d be paying so much more for that size of house.

I love the attitude of getting rid of something when getting something new, cuz "I've enjoyed this, maybe someone else will enjoy it too." I love your apartment and I am with you. Yes it is pricy but to be near work it is worth it. I love radiator heat it is a cleaner heat less allergies and a d I'd you put a pot of water on it, it's great to add moisture to the room during winter cold months. My apartment that I had for 20 years until last October I lived on the 5th floor. Built in the early 60s. Had 2 walk in closets was known as the largest one bedroom unit in the entire Northern Va area. I faced the fountain which was soothing to dit out on the balcony and read and hear the water. My bedroom was also my craft area and a corner of the living room was my office. When I left there I paid $1467 a month which includes $50 for underground parking. I walked to work and I walked to the grocery store, cleaners, restaurants. My complex was gated too so you had to have a code to enter. When I moved I gave tons to Habitat for Humanity. I gave up one antique because no one could fit it into their car and I was sentimental about it but had to let ot go. I love your place it has great character. My nephew graduated in June from Steve's Institite of Tech and he is working in Manhattan and he just moved into an apartment close to his work. He too rides his bike.
