Hard to believe that this is a 40 year old song! In a blink of an eye, it is 40 years later. I feel old!

I'm in my late 70's. I remember when this song was released. My girlfriend and I danced and danced to this song. We loved it. I am still dancing, only alone now. My dog thinks the old man has lost it because I dance around the house when I listen to this song. ...I turn the volume up and I know the neighbors say, "he is partying again"..LOL---- UPDATE: Sept. 12, 2022: Just wanted you my friends, to know I celebrated my 80th birthday and danced to "Wake Me Up Before You Go GO". I lost my dog a few months ago due to cancer. He was with me nearly 18 years. I sure miss the little guy. The kind comments you left below and emails, have made this old man smile and laugh. I wish you all the best. Please stay well and keep in touch. Dec. 25, 2022: Just want to wish all of you nice people Happy Holidays and to thank you for the nice notes you send me. You are the best. As a fairly Good-looking straight heterosexual Man, I can also comfortably say that, George Michael is an incredibly good looking Man -- one of the best looking threats to my own sense of masculinity... So there, I said it... He was only hated on by others, or more so tormented by other Males, since/because he was so good looking... I've thankfully only had to experience a small and tiny fraction, of what he probably had to contend with; that is, for throughout the entire course of his entire life -- and it would probably be extremely difficult to do so...

Just because people “know”, it doesn’t always mean that person fully understands it and back then the world wasn’t as accepting as it is now (it’s still not good yet), but gay men were at a much higher risk of physical attacks and being such a big name that risk would increase dramatically. Not to mention it was a mostly female audience and if your career depends on younger women drooling over you, coming out and saying yeah you girls never stand a chance could be career destroying as well....I doubt it would have been, but you might think that if you were in that situation back when being famous and openly gay wasn’t a normal thing.
