Wonderful.. It reminds of a documentary I saw about "illegal oil refineries" deep in the jungles of Nigeria that make Diesel. These men cut pipes transporting crude oil, extract it in buckets and then boil it in large vats using firewood. Very hard nasty dirty gruelling and potentially very dangerous work.

no, they made boat loads of money whaling in those days.

Top whalers were celebrities and made a lot of money compared to most in the day

We may have to get back to this way of harvesting lamp oil as we are fast becoming not allowed to drill for oil

Oil is not our only known source of energy and hunting the sperm whale to extinction also won't help.
