Here's the opening moments of the Family Classics presentation of the 1977 version of Alexandre Dumas' swashbuckler "The Man in the Iron Mask," hosted by Roy Leonard. Includes:
Host Roy Leonard's introduction of the movie, with an explanation of the legend behind the story and historical description, and explaining that the version being shown this Sunday is the made-for-TV remake starring Richard Chamberlain, Patrick McGoohan, Louis Jourdan, Vivien Merchant, Ian Holm and Sir Ralph Richardson, before advising that they will begin "right after these messages."
(NOTE: Family Classics had shown the 1939 version of this tale with Louis Hayward only once, on Friday, October 7th 1966.)
