WFLD Channel 32 - Monstrous Movie - "Dracula's Daughter" (Opening & Technical Difficulties, 1983)

Ойын-сауық

Here's a technical difficulties moment that plagued a Monstrous Movie presentation of "Dracula's Daughter" [1936] on WFLD Channel 32. Includes:
. . . innocently enough, the opening title sequence and moderately scary voiceover (by Jim Barton) introducing the film
"A Universal Picture" opening (with airplane flying around globe as used before 1936)
We are about 27 seconds into the opening titles and credits for the film when the technical staff realizes the sound is off, so the Monstrous Movie bumper is put up and the voiceover (by Jim Barton, sadly not in his menacing voice) - no doubt trying to head off the usual bunch of mobs with torches and pitchforks as seen in so many of those horror movies - does his "We are having some difficulty . . . please stand by" blurb, before about 3 seconds with sound but with galloping picture (incorrectly threaded film) leads to the Monstrous Movie bumper put back up for another minute and a half (and Barton's script repeated about a minute into the bumper on the screen) . . . until finally, the rest of the movie is shown with nary an incident, other than the regular ghoulish affairs which are present in the film.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, June 11th 1983 at 1:30pm.
About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 4,700+ (and counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please visit us at:

I wonder if the Glitch Gremlin from the AVGN episode was running "Dracula's Daughter", it would be a problem.

The 1936 "Glass Globe" logo was said to have started on this movie, but I saw the 1927 "Biplane 2" logo. What's going on there?
