Hello You Three - greetings from Poland Yet more cruising through beautiful Cheshire. The canalside scenery and woodlands on the way to Preston Brook Tunnel was gorgeous. Autumn has arrived and mother nature is doing her very best to share her colours with us. The lighting from the boat whilst going through the three tunnels was beautiful. So sorry about the rain - I hope it didn't dampen your spirits too much. Wonderful banter again - this is what makes your videos so enjoyable to watch. You two are fabulous fun to be with. 11:10 “it’s a no from me” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’ve got another one for you Anthony 😂 If I was singing around the house, my dad would sometimes ask me - “Hey, who was it that used to sing that song?” He’d pretend to be all interested, so I’d reply and tell him the artist or the name of the group. For example, I’d say - “Oh, Mick Jagger sings that one Dad” and my dad would then say - “Well, let’s keep it that way hey?” Or, “well let’s let Mick/him sing that one from now on” Cheeky bugger❤ 🙂🐿🌈❤️

Most of your vlogs seemed to be in nice weather recently so whats a bit of rain. I like cruising in the rain, often seems a bit of a novelty. 3 tunnels is good going on one cruise. Nice to see the Anderton area, liked our time there. Dexter seems to be showing his age a bit on the stairs, but they are quite steep, and for 15yrs he is great. That lemon drizzle did look moist and scrumptious, happy diets (not) you three xxx

I love the journey along the canals with the three of you! I've never had the opportunity to holiday on a canal boat and have learned a lot from you. With all of the stressful times we are all experiencing now you 3 are like a breath of fresh air. My caregiver is in the kitchen making bran muffins loaded with nuts and seeds( a healthful treat) wish I could share with you. ( it's kellogs old fashioned albran muffin recipie that 50+ years ago I made to take when hiking with my girls) looking forward to more cooking and art work being done in your lovely home. We have had our first dusting OF SNOW in the Southern tier of upstate new york and it will be interesting to see when you have your first. Love you both and Dexter too....XOX

Good Morning, Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog. Loving your chat as always, so natural, but so interesting. Also loving the 2 way LED lamp you have for going thru tunnels. Are they new Ponchos, as Paul's Poncho looks very bright, more than I remember from previous outings, or is it just me? Anthony, what a great jump onto your moving boat. Will your new boat have a (safer) hand rail down the side, for a better grip? The way you handed Paul his coffee thru an almost closed hatch was so funny, you looked so cute seeing your smile and eyes thru the narrow gap. Dexter-Dog was so nice, the way he climbed the stirs from the galley to the rear deck, do you think he was secretly waiting for one of his Dad's to pick him up? I would worry (myself) going thru long tunnels, that second tunnel you sailed thru had a few turns in it, well done for navigating it and the others. Anthony's Lemon Drizzle looked very yummy. You guys are so talented. Excellent Vlog and so well edited. Have a lovely week. Take Care.

Sorry for the late reply. No idea why your comment went into the held for review box 🤷‍♂️. The light is a game changer in the tunnels. The Poncho’s aren’t new. They are great in the rainy weather. Not sure if the new boat has a grab rail. Will have to have a look now at the previous ones. 😂, it did look funny just a hand coming up with the coffee. That was a fun vlog with you guys going through the tunnels shame about the weather with the rain. It’s been snowing here not a very nice day but we also went out and got Eccles cakes 😋 yumm. Have to get them from a store about an hours drive from us they keep a lot of British foods thank goodness especially bacon. Just can’t get used to the streaky bacon after all the years spent over here🤣. Love that Dexter is so smart when it’s raining and stays in the boat he’s so good. Have a great week 🥰

Happy Saturday! It's winding down for you so I hope it was a great day and will be a great evening. 🥰 I had to look up Eccles cake. Looks good but probably wouldn't be a favorite. The lemon drizzle looks the best. For me, cake has to be very moist. I love pineapple cake, pineapple upside down cake and rum cake---and of course anything chocolate. I have a terrible sweet tooth that I battle with all the time. Love cake, pie... all of it. ❤ Three tunnels in a row would put me in a high state even though they didn't seem that bad. Pretty cold here. 32F. I guess that is 0 for you! 🌨There's about 2 inches of snow on the ground. 40s tomorrow and the next few days so it won't last long. I haven't even done all the fall yard work yet. Leaves are still falling. 🍁😊Take care and have a great week. 💕

Really enjoyed this video because it's exactly part of the trip we did in June 2022 on our first canal holiday. Loved the fact that you use an extra light in the tunnels. Knowing we might be mooring in remote locations, I actually took a couple of portable work lights with us so we could see on the tow paths at night. However, due to the poor light from the tunnel lamp, when we got to the second tunnel I put both of my portable lights at the bow, one on the well deck and one on the roof, both facing forwards. They made a huge improvement to the visibility. Well worth taking them. Not only that but despite protestations from my wife while preparing for the holiday, I packed a set of walkie talkies. They were invaluable on the 67ft boat, it was so much easier to ask for another gin and bitter lemon while I was at the tiller 😉

We're off to Devon on Monday, with a group of students who are going for a geography field study course as part of their A-levels. The weather forecast looks like it might be "Wet N Wild"

I love the tunnels. It's amazing to think of when and how they were built. That second tunnel looked kind of tricky with a sharp turn, though! I always enjoyed being out in the storms and rain when I worked on the Mississippi River, but I'm kind of crazy that way. 😂 Thanks again for sharing and cheering me up!

The engineering is amazing to think about James. The one with the kink was a bit tricky but pleased to say we came out unscathed. The good thing about being out in the rain is coming into a lovey warm boat. Not sure I would want to be out in a storm, although I love watching storms. Have a lovely week and take care ❤

John. That about sums that trip up. Hate tunnels too. Honestly though, not a scratch. 😊. We do look after the boat and will be sad when she has gone but we got to a point after living aboard for 2 years there are things we would change which meant some renovations. That was one of the purposes of our Crick visit this year was to get some ideas. We love Oakums and had an opportunity to work with them and we couldn’t turn it down. Dexter is loving life and I hope he has a few more years left. It is really heartbreaking loosing a pet. Hope you are keeping well John. Have a lovely week ❤

Good morning Boys from sunny France. Thanks for joining me for a late breakfast. Moved all the sheep first thing this morning because I have loads of weaving to do today to get christmas orders done. SO much fun to watch a section of the canal we were just on. The improvised tunnel light is AMAZING. We could not believe how good the illumination was. At the same time we looked at each other and said that we'd need to pick one up for our next trip. ONE BOTTLE OF WINE?

Another informative and entertaining vlog. Loved the trips through the tunnels. A walk from the A49 along the Trent and Mersey to Saltersford Locks and back along the Weaver is a favourite dog walk so it was great to see what a trip through the tunnel is like. Hey guys. Absolutely love my bat light. Paid £18 for mine and had to use it this week as there was a 4 hour power cut at home. Can’t wait to use it on the boat though. Love the fact your coffee mug matches the colour of Morning Star. Was good to see Anderton again and the ‘picnic’ area. That fender definitely looked like Heidi’s to me 🤣🤣 x

Hey Kathy. Hope you are good. Glad you enjoyed this one. The light is brilliant in the tunnels. Had it a while and was a tip when we went through Standedge last year. Makes it so much easier. It does make it more difficult to decide where we moor re the car. Most places have a bridge or a housing estate near the canal where we can park so it is rare we struggle but it can be a pain. We can’t wait to share and we are hoping the shell build begins in a week or so. Can’t wait to start sharing where we are up to. Have a lovely week and take care ❤

Hey Daniel. Thank you. We try and include the good and bad of boating, although nothing nicer than cruising in the rain and getting into a cosy warm boat when you moor up. The ponchos are from The People’s Poncho Company. Think there is only one make 🤷‍♂️. Got ours last year. Brilliant. Happy weekend ❤

Love that Caroline and Pete helped you out, really enjoy their Vlogs, they seem like really nice people. Did you do a time jump, or did the weather change so quickly? In the last Vlog you were in t-shirts and teased that there was some news you would be sharing soon. The CC was going nuts. It really was Bruce. We love it when we find such beautiful scenery. Dexter has hip dysplasia and his tablets were keeping arthritis at bay but at 15, I guess it was inevitable. He does ok though and never seems to be in pain which is good. Happy weekend to you. Best wishes from all three of us. ❤

Nice vlog as usual. Dexter certainly looks good for his age. Some nice scenery although the trees did try to get you a couple of times. I suppose with the weather you just have to take you get. The cake looked very tasty.

Think you would love it Alan. I use this and grate lemon zest into the mixture. For the filling I use home made lemon curd or just lemon juice and granulated sugar for the topping. ❤ Victoria Sandwich ★★★★★ Cakes Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 45 min | Servings: Serves: 6 - 8 Ingredients: For The Large All-in-oneVictoria Sandwich: 225 g (8 oz) Stork 225 g (8 oz) caster sugar 4 large eggs 225 g (8 oz) Mc Doughall’s Premium Sponge self-raising flour 2 level tsp baking powder 1 x 20cm (8in) greased and lined sandwich tin. Directions: Pre-heat the oven to Fan 160°C gas mark 4. Grease tin then line the base with baking parchment. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Sift flour and baking powder together. Beat eggs in a cup/bowl. Add the eggs a little at a time to the sugar/stork cream. After adding a little of the egg, add a tablespoon of flour. Continue whisking. Repeat until all the egg has been added, then add remainder of the flour. Keep whisking until light. Gently fold mixture a few times then put into the tin. Level mixture off and put in the oven. Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 25 minutes. Cover with foil and bake for a further 20 mins or until well risen and the top of the cakes spring back when lightly pressed with a finger. Leave to cool in the tin for a few minutes then turn out, peel off the parchment and finish cooling on a wire rack. When completely cold, cut cake I half and sandwich the cakes together with the jam. Sprinkle with home made lemon curd and cream or use a lemon crunchy top as per below For the crunchy lemon drizzle topping 175g granulated sugar Juice of 2 lemons. Put holes in the cake with a skewer and pour over whilst warm. Allow to cool.❤

I use my magimix to cream the butter and sugar. Too much effort by hand 😂. We will be staying out this year. Looking for a short term mooring whilst we are away in Jan but otherwise no marina this year. Time definitely does fly. Seems like only last week we had a heat wave. Great weekend to you. Take care ❤
