ABOUT ME
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello there, welcome to this channel!
I am an Indonesian female solo traveler, who started solo traveling in 2013. After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue full-time traveling and to document myself as I explore different cultures as a solo female.
Having initially traveled for 5 months throughout Asia, I moved to China in January 2017 for an English teaching job, which was my first experience living abroad.
Since leaving China in 2018, I have taken the move to become a full-time KZread creator and traveler. I strive to create unique, culture-driven content and capture authentic interactions as I travel.

In fact, on the other hand. I was exhausted and quite drained for vlogging the past 5 days but well, one has to show up to be a presentable person in front of the camera :D When exactly are you visiting Yunnan?

Syifa Adriana I think on August 11 we're traveling from Yangshuo to Kunming. And then around the 22 or so we'll be in Sichuan at Yading Nature Reserve. In other words we'll be in Yunnan for a week and a half.
Nice video Syifa. Love your style

Another great video, life in China is different. All the small shops, wet market, street vendors. Here around 10,000 or more small shops disappear every year now do to Amazon effect. There are farmer's markets, but they are far and few between. Our local grocery store is owned by a dutch company, when I was in the Netherlands one of my first stops was the grocery store, very similar. Same with cosmetic stores in Paris. They were almost exactly the same. Well , do not worry about the weather, you produce excellent videos. Take care.
Well, I think the public dancing was at Shangri-La. They have evening dancing every day and nice music every day. The dumplings, Whooyaaa, was great. Yunnan is famous for tea and mushrooms! Enjoy !
I love that beautiful old town. I hope I was with you. How did you find out all these interesting places in China?

In Yunnan province alone, there are quite plenty of Chinese muslim that has local eateries. Usually there are signs that say "qingzhen" which means halaal. I personally am not really fussy, that the risk of traveling deep in a different country. But then again, everyone has different priority.

Thank you for watching. Glad to know that you are enjoying this! Wet market is a market selling fresh meat and produce, distinguished from dry markets which sell durable goods such as cloth and electronics. It's Singaporean and Hongkong english terms. Usually scattered around Asian countries.

True, I can only use 30fps for 4k video. On this particular video, I wasn't satisfied at all with the clips. I was actually trying to shoot and catching up with Li as he was exploring the market. Apology for the shaky footages, I also hate shaky footages LOL.

There's a theory that says people from Malaysia and Indonesia originated from Yunnan, from many videos including this one I concluded there's little similarities. Austronesian follow out of Taiwan migration model, with clear linguistic and cultural trails. Even Japanese share some similarities with Javanese.
Beautiful video 👍👍👍
Food looks yummy 😋. Yo seems happy enough. Watching from Nepal 🇳🇵

Aww ngecess deh gw lihat yang makan dumpling! if the dumpling using spicy peanut sauce then will become new version of "Siomay"! Btw Lee is handsome alias ganteng ya ! Actually I thought that since you visited Iran you became an Indonesan lady using scarf like mother Mary. Salaam.
At the Lijiang shopping areas, you didn't visit a shop named "The Yak Meat of Naxi Girl" ? Btw, there is a McDonald's there. Ask Li where is it. Goodness, and you don't enjoy the local fruits in seasons now, to maintain your complexion ? I was there in October 2013.

People should stop harassing Syifa on wearing the hijab. That's her personal choice. In fact, the verse often cited to support the argument to wear the hijab is Surah 24 : 31. But nowhere in the verse is there an obligatory injunction to wear hijab. The Arabic word used here is 'khimar' which simply means a cover. Thus a table cloth is a 'khimar' for covering table. A dress for the body is a 'khimar' (cover) for the body. What the verse says is to 'khimar' (cover) the bosom and the private parts and those parts that would not be ordinarily shown. Nowhere is the hair ( 'shaar' ) nor the head ('ras' ) mentioned. That should be sufficient clue. But some people argue that 'khimar' means the head veil. That is where all the confusion starts. Yes, a head veil is a 'khimar' (cover) for the head. But the word 'khimar' here does not mean head veil because it would render the verse quite unintelligible and pompous. In fact, the full hijab was a Arabic tradition to help keep out nature's harsh elements.

Thank youuuuu so much Om Ni I agree with you!! However there will be still such comments coming every now and then again!
@shaikshaik7821
6 жыл бұрын
Om Ni just read the verse you mentioned and it IS obligatory to cover head and adornments, maybe you are trying hard to twist words for your convenience, tho you did accepted that the word means head cover yet you chose to beat around the bush and take other meaning of it, In anyways its nobodies place to give fawta unless on is an Islamic Scholar with valid degree, because the wrong could become a means of misguidance and hellfire
@omni3670
6 жыл бұрын
Shaik Shaik, did I say 'khimar' means the head veil? Khimar for the head just means a cover for the head. But does the verse anyway mention the head or hair? It specifically mentions the bosom, to cover or khimar it and other parts of the body that ordinarily people would out of modesty cover those, like the buttocks, private parts, upper thighs? no? If the verse enjoins covering the hair and head, don't you think it would have specifically mentioned those as it specifically does about the breasts and since it is not immediately obvious that people would ordinarily cover the head and hair out of modesty. The trouble is that people would rather blindly follow what the ulamas say without thinking. The trouble is that ijtihad or critical thinking is replaced by taqliq - imitation or blind obedience. Didn't the Koran teach adherents to question and verify? Surah 17 : 36 may be instructive. : "...do not accept that you yourself cannot ascertain. You are given the hearing, the sight and the mind in order to examine and verify..." It is good to note that there is a Koranic warning against upholding vain hadith. Surah 31 : 6 ' Some people uphold vain hadith in order to divert others from the path of God without knowledge and to create a mockery out of it. These have deserved humiliating retribution" And again -Surah 45 : 6 "These are God's revelations that we recite for you with the truth. In which hadith besides the revelations, do they believe. God sent you the best hadith, a scripture that is consistent, repeating. It is a revelation from the Lord of the universe. Are you avading this hadith."
