I'm pushing 60, one thing I've learned over the years is a lot of people like to settle on music from a genre or an era and that's it they're done. They really are cheating themselves, so much is always going on in the world of music. Saddest thing I ever saw in that regard, I drive a cab at night in my city. I drove 2 19 year olds who admitted to me all that would ever listen to is led zeppelin. I like led zeppelin but to call that the be all end all of musical progress stymies me. I told them I like kraft dinner, but if I only ate that everyday just shoot me now and get it over with. They didn't understand the comparison.

This interview with Rhian & Hester explains a lot about their approach to music. They're not kids they're in their late 20s and thought they were past the age of having a music career having played separately for years between normal jobs. They're more free as a band because Wet Leg started out as a bit of fun. They don't take themselves seriously and it's so refreshing. @J Donutz lol no it ain’t, he’s right. Nirvana came out with Bleach before Nevermind so they didn’t come out of nowhere in 91. I remember, I was there. Most people don’t know these guys, and everyone knew Nirvana when Teen Spirit came out. It was like a social wave. These have a looooong way to go to get there.

Seen them with CHVRCHES in San Francisco. I gotta say at the time of the concert I could barely make out any words to their songs.

Very talented people not taking themselves too seriously and having fun. For example Rhian tried to make it as a solo artist and it never worked out for her when she was younger. It's the older been around for years and doing normal jobs and didn't make it and now just doing it for the fun approach that makes them different from other bands. They don't give a f- any more and ironically it's resulted in great music and success.
