To those who are getting worked up about this being a publicity stunt or marketing strategy or whatever you want to call it, stop being so pessimistic. We all know it's a marketing strategy. That's no secret. They need ways to grow their company if they want to make money after all. But the great thing about it is that rather than following the grain and just making commercials to advertise their product, they're getting creative and found a way to give back to their customers while doing so. It shows the character of the company and is putting a lot of people in a good mood. That's more than any other airline company can say they've done.

I hope I wasn't the only one who teared while watching this! WestJet did an amazing thing... I'm impress!

I've always come back here every year and still having a good cry everytime.

I've watched this video probably 20 times and I get emotional every time.

All these years later and i still come back to watch this video every Christmas, thanks for making it Westjet!

It's difficult to be cynical about this, it's a big company doing some clever marketing, but they've found a way to market themselves in a way that makes people happy. A great idea, and very warming.

The manager with that idea needs a medal, he just make the kids happy and loyal customers for life

Out of all the gifts I saw there I like the free flight home one the best, came with a personalized letter and everything. What a good company

That was nothing but class. The person and or persons that came up with that idea need to be congratulated as you are a true champion of humanity. You need to be cherished by your workmates, family, friends, and peers as your heart is pure to the core and wouldn't believe for a second that it was solely for publicity. It will move anyone who watches it. Priceless!

I started crying before they even went shopping. Maybe Christmas "isnt supposed to be about gifts", but the happiness and sense of community and love between complete strangers that were created through those gifts is a wonderful addition to the holidays imo.

Stuff like this makes me shed tears of joy.

the whole team who bought the gifts are so generous wow and everything is smiles and tears of joy it's so beautiful ! ! ! 😍😍😍😍

I can only imagine the absolute rush and chaos those WestJet employee's faced in those teams they had going out on Christmas Eve trying to round up all those gift's in a ~3 hour period, wrap and name each and everyone, ready to be giving when those passengers arrived. What a bloody amazing feat! Excellent marketing strategy as it probably only cost ~$100,000 verses millions in running commercials to achieve the same effect. Let the news agencies advertise for you these days.. . Why fit the bill yourself. That PR Advertising executive is a fucking genius! You could run commercials for an entire year across the globe and not achieve the same effect that this simple but very well planned out stunt achieved at a fraction of what it would cost to run advertisement's in multiply countries. Pure genius.

Spirit Airlines will also be doing this same campaign. However, the cost of the gift will be billed to your credit card plus shipping and handling fees.

When I feel sad or certain we have lost compassion for our fellow man, I watch this video to remember there are still good people who care out there. ❤

I'm watching this in 2020 during this terrible covid/corona year. So much loss of life and terrible situations for so many people across the world. This awesome video made me a bit happier. Wishing everyone a merry healthy Christmas this year.

WestJet....I have watch this every year since it was aired.....It makes this 58 year old cry anytime.....I wish we had something like this in Ohio but we do not. I just wanted to say that what you did was truly wonderful.....I wish I could fly somewhere warm but its just too expensive so I watch this video and smile and that warms me inside...Bravo!!!!

I first saw this last year and I have now added it to my channel. This is emotional. WestJet deserve every commendation for this.

It seems a lot of people commenting on here think that helping the destitute during the holidays is the only way of showing true Christmas spirit. Do we just forget that everyone is entitled to a happy Christmas? We have to make it about particular people now? Yes it's a marketing move, but at the same time they put smiles on people's faces and the faces of their kids, which is what Christmas is about to me.

Very emotional. This is how the world should be. Strangers caring for strangers . No fighting = a safe and happy world !

Crazy-Q Adventure & Media I did not think so many People would agree with me. Actually what kills me is the ticket Home. I havent been home in 8 Years.

This brought tears to my eyes... Makes me warm to be a Canadian, and to know that a company like WestJet takes the time to do something heart warmingly kind like this for its passengers.

1:24 "An Android Tablet" -- what a very smart and intelligent young man!

How can 2000+ people even dislike this video? This is sooo amazingg!!! It's really heartwarming how they made their customers happy for the holidays with the interactive Santa Clause. I cried when the baggage claim alarm went off and it started "snowing" and I saw the gifts going down the belt. I cried again when I watched the second and third time LOL.

It’s been 6 years yet this video will always be my favorite of Christmas videos. Every year, i always search and watch this video over and over again.

Wow. I'm a grown ass man and I was literally fighting back tears. This was too nice and sweet. I think the little boy who was *SMART* enough to want an Android tablet... and the mom who got her camera, really did me in. Little gestures of kindness that mean the world to a lot of people.
