Good update. I've commented elsewhere that I'm disappointed in the terminal's design. The terminal should be both functional and memorable as a future, major gateway to Australia. Instead, we get a big T-shaped box (H-shaped box when the terminal is extended) with a feature ceiling design directly stolen from Madrid Airport. We should've done better in my view, particularly when compared to newly-built Asian and Middle Eastern airports.
Thank you, 2 more years to go.. hope this will reduce the pressure on Sydney airport and travellers can expect a relaxed experience especially during Christmas holiday season.
finally something thats actually good
Good coverage although a few close ups would have been nice. This will be fantastic once up and running and I think not long after the second stage is built ,the talk will be for a third runway due to the expected growth of western Sydney. I like every thing that is taking place here ,Penrith and Liverpool.
Thanks for showing the designs and aircraft etc which I hadn’t seen elsewhere. I echo other comments - why do Aussies build such boring terminals? My bad for recently passing through Changi a few times I guess.
Not all aircraft will have aero bridges. You will have to walk to aircraft just like the best third world countries!
Thanks for the upload. Why don't they just build two runways in the first place? JFC this government is tight.

It doesn't make economic sense if there's no immediate traffic demand for a second runway. It's better to spend the money we have today on something that's needed right now such as new hospitals, schools, roads etc. Plus, like any new capital asset, a second runway would immediately start incurring ongoing maintenance costs which is a cash outflow which should be avoided if that asset isn't immediately required.

it will be. I think in late 2040's when demand are there. They will build 2nd terminal along with the 2nd runway.
Very basic looking airport!

Yes it does. This is a 1st phase, 2nd phase will begin in 2040's and the next one will continue on. Start small, go big over time. Thats how efficient it can be.
