WESTERN HTS SNOW PLOW REVIEW

In this video I review my western HTS snow plow. It is a light duty snow plow made for half ton trucks. I really enjoy plowing with my western HTS snow plow. It weighs about 412 pounds which is about half the weight of a mood weight too heavy duty plow. There are a couple of issues with the plow that I have found. When is it is hard to back drag in wet snow because the plow is so light. The western HTS plowi is very responsive in the controls and very easy to use. It does however trip too often due to only having two trips springs instead of four. All things considered for the price the western HTS is a good plow and I definitely would recommend this plow if you have a lightweight or half ton truck.

Would it help to adjust the spring tension with the eye bolt adjusters? It just seems they are a little loose in the video. (Plow trips too much) Just wondering, looking to purchase this plow before next winter. Nice video, thanks for posting it!

Hay Doug with plowing season approaching if you DO have a mind to help your front end struts look into the Timbren supports. Easy to install and they just keep the struts from bottoming out or compressing more than usual otherwise when the blade goes up. Put em' on my 1500 Silverado front and back. The front because of the weight of the plow and the back bc of all the salt bags I needed to hold for my accounts. I'm here to tell you it's a Great, Inexpensive, affective product. Have Fun Plowin' dude.......

Doug - I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, similar to yours. Did you need to install a leveling kit or had any frontend work done in order to support that plow?

If you're in business you want the back drag blade. I have on my fisher on my Sierra 1500 and "to me" it's essential to doing a good job.

I always made sure I had at least 500 lb in the back and that would help keep the nose up and just make sure when you put that weight in the back of the truck it is to the rear of the axle! You will probably already knew that but it's important that you do that. You can push more snow with the added weight and it will relieve the pressure off front end depending on how heavy your plow is. I have a polypro so it's about 650 lb so I offset it as much as I could being a 1500. Worked really well for me

It’s going to depend on the dealer. When I bought my plow I bought it in August because my dealer was running a promotion. They installed it for free because they were trying to get installed done early. The later in the year they get slammed with installs.
