This is just dissapointing. The Sheffield Shield final used to be a big event with proper attendance. Now it gets little to no advertising and no one seems to care. And the worst bit is our Test selectors are so gutless players like Bancroft and Beau Webster don’t look like getting a go in the test team despite their shield performances.

​@@cowaylon1681 best crowd the WACA has seen since last year's final at least. But the rest of the season has had very poor attendance. Even the Marsh Cup final in Sydney had a very small crowd. I just hope they keep playing for those of us who are interested. It's absolutely world class cricket and we're lucky to have it in our backyard.

I was only able to listen to the commentary but gee whiz judging by the (eastern states) commentators this game must be right in the balance given how well Tasmania are apparently playing

Well some of WA's best players are playing in the IPL right now.

Tasmania just to defensive in the 1st innings, they are bowling too short in second, a trap for many interstate teams on the fast bouncy WACA wicket, hence WA players are always good square of the wicket at all levels.

That 4 of Cartwright's at 7:05 was on the boundary so quickly it was almost hard to believe. It was a great day to be at the WACA and the biggest crowd I've seen there in a long while. We were also treated to the spectacle of the tower crane being erected on the ground for upcoming construction work. A team of very efficient riggers working up around the height of the lighting tower supports. Looking forward to tomorrow now.

Why did tassie bowl first???? Im pretty sure they won the toss.

WA would be crowned champions. They only need a draw

Wa to win big by more than 150 + runs.Some defensive batting by Tas in the first inning led by captain Silky is resulting in Wa dominating shield final win of 2024.

It's gonna be so boring if WA wins
