Unfortunately it’s so widespread. Nasty, disrespectful, dishonest, crooked bosses and managers. The surprising truth is that they actually don’t care if you quit, and they prefer that you do quit so that they can hire new staff that is clueless and gets paid minimum wage because they are new. The longer the staff is ‘loyal’ the more expensive it gets to keep paying them. It’s all about the money and not loyalty

The reality is, for at least 2 decades more and more employers are going the At Will route. It basically eliminates job security, as well as job description. So you can basically be fired just because someone doesn't like you or that you stand up for yourself.

75% of the United States workforce is 'at will.' While we don’t have the full context of the video, it’s likely that the workers didn’t simply 'ask for a raise' but rather were trying to coerce the company into giving them one. In an 'at will' employment scenario, both the employer and the employee have the right to terminate the employment relationship at any time. If workers want better compensation, they need to understand the importance of mutual agreement, not ultimatums.

Missing the first part of the video so we don't really know what occurred prior to this. As far as the guy who got fired, nobody is required to hand you a piece of paper to throw you out of their business. And the guy who complained about getting his starting rate for seven years...why didn't he just find another job? Nobody is holding you there and if you already know you work for a greedy boss/owner who doesn't appreciate you then just find something else. Bosses like this who take their employees for granted are everywhere but unemployment is the lowest it's been in 50 years so jobs are plentiful.

It’s his business and his establishment. He can fire you for any reason he sees fit and he is under no obligation to give you a raise. You also absolutely have no right to stay on his property if he doesn’t want you there. Need to stop watching movies and get in with the real world. Under capitalism, everything is private property and unless you own it, you can be removed at will by the owner/owners. If you feel like you’re being underpaid and don’t like working there, you are free to quit/leave any time. Employees and employers interests are not mutually exclusive under capitalism.

The boss did nothing wrong . He actually stops himself and showed self discipline he was going to continue to argue turned around walked away thought about his words and actions then continued to out again and actually POLITELY asked them to leave for causing a scene and used the APPROPRIATE authority to deal with unruly entitled acting employees. I'm backing the boss for maturity. This should have been asked in private not in front of other employees to start a mutiny. The employees are toxic actually causing a mutiny and not seeing that actual WHOLE PICTURE. The big mouth just wants to look like a hero to the actual manipulative person too small to go into the bosses room and ask and ask why not. 1. Can the company actually AFFORD to give the employees a raise? Maybe there is unseen things going on and y'all should see the accountant before you get harsh. 2. He can always replace you if you like your job you don't pipe up like that guy did. Stay ASSERTIVE not AGGRESSIVE. 3. If he is running the place badly then work as a team and see maybe why he can't afford to give raises and nail the problem not the person. Leadership skills are acquired by the skills not the 7 years of being there . In other words a person can work 7 years and never seen how to GROW that company and thus it never grew and thus no money to give. Then the unseeing employees don't understand why they got no raises. Just because it's a big company doesn't mean it's barely making it. Crunch the numbers for him and see why he won't . maybe y'all are missing something and not seeing the whole picture that you THINK you are. Numbers don't lie ... Check the accountant first before thinking one is entitled to raises . And the big mouth wasn't the one that came up with the idea it is a person that complained to him he's the " hero" but he's manipulated by the complainer that is actually a coward. I know this b.s all too well

yeah thats why all employees got a raise 2 weeks after this and a pizza party, you may write a long essay for people to indulge but no matter how big the pit of trash its still trash. look you dont know the full detail yet instantly side with how the boss handled it. we started recording after he was the one that started shouting and getting aggressive by slamming his hands and demanding that is not how you lead. so yeah once we started recorded he thought more carefully of his actions, we tried a proper method of approach to discuss raises and such and that is how he responded as the owner. Maybe ask for a little more info next time before adding so much none important fictional details, now you know a little more also thanks for watching and commenting and if you want more info more than happy to provide :D
