I personally thought JT Daniels played better out of the two, but Pittsburgh had the overall talent and luck on their side, which allowed them to prevail in this one.

I don't know how good these teams will end up being. They might both be 7-5 teams at the end of the year. But this was a super fun return of a great rivalry. And no matter how the season ends up... Nothing should be taken away from this game. And that's the difference between the college game and the pro game. And this is what makes college football unique.

Slovis had all day to throw a pass. JT Daniels had no time but made plays. JT is the better QB. If he had that much time he would have picked apart Pitt with his precision.

Saw that game inbetween PSU/Purdue commercials for the most part. Got lucky and managed to catch WVU's blocked red zone punt and Pitt's pick-six. Was a hell of a game judging from the parts I saw.

How quickly a player can go from Player of the Game to the goat. That WVU receiver will remember that one for a while. Also I feel bad for JT Daniels because it feels like wherever he goes, he either gets replaced due to injury, or he loses because the rest of his team gives up halfway through the game.

They lost cause they got out played in the second half... not to mention the two passes that should have been intercepted but was completed instead but it was a fantastic game and a good game to start the series back up

As a Pitt senior I’ll say that WVU did not give up halfway through the game, they fought their asses off till the end, they were 1 complete pass away from overtime in a second half shootout

By far the best officiated game of football I’ve probably ever seen. Refs were completely fair to both teams, and reviewed many of their calls.

Should have reviewed the Daniels TD sneak, he wasn't in. The HL made the call and he had no way of seeing the ball as Daniel's back was to him.

I was at the game. Didn’t end how I wished but it was a great time. Both qbs looked great. Both teams made some mistakes but Pitt just made enough plays to win it.

WVU lost because NAR DIZZY out coached Neal Brown. WVU had better personnel but could not capitalize on that because of coaching. Kudos to PITT you found a way to WIN.

Came for JT vs Slovis. Stayed for a barn burner of a football game!

That was a great game overall. Both teams fought till the very end but shITT gets on top. Only if Neal Brown actually had balls to go for it on 4th down though. Our offense still sucks to this day despite some slight improvements. Quite a lot of careless mistakes from the Mountaineers which costed the Panthers at least 2 easy TDs too. Kudos to Pitt’s intense defense as well. Although my team lost, I’m so glad the Backyard Brawl returned. Revenge will be ours when we return to Morgantown.

That 4th down decision reminds me of Narduzzi's decision against PSU a few years back. When asked this week in a pre-game presser about what he learned from rivalry games Narduzzi said, "I learned to go for it on 4th and 1." Neal Brown should have listened to that interview. Excited to see what this rivalry brings next

His hands weren't under it, but I had to really slow it down. I'd say he got control of the ball, but he used the ground to do it. Heart breaking it came down to the replay.

IMO this was the best game so far!! of course we have a whole season to go.

mistakes were made on both sides but still a very entertaining game. Pitt showed they wanted a little more at the end. Side note if they develop CJ he will be a problem at RB.
