West Valley Yard Open House 2015

LABOS West Valley District Yard Open House May 16, 2015.
Nothing much to see here except the normal Valley refuse collection trucks: LNG Pete/320 Amrep Octos, some LNG Condor Amrep Octos, and of course the new Pete/320 Hardox Ellipticals.
However, I was surprised to see a number of really cool trucks here: Condor Hardox Elliptical, the LNG Mack Amrep (which is also the last one left of the original 6 L.A. bought), and 3 Diesel baby trucks! (273 which I didn't know even existed. I don't believe the diesel baby trucks or the Mack are used regularly anymore, but it owuld be cool to see one of them on route. Tony, Kirk and I hope to head out to the West Valley this summer to try to find most of them, if any.
As you can see, LABOS also used my Venice Beach Manual Garbage Collection picture! It was a pleasant surprise, and although I don't mind them using it in their advertising, I would still like credit.
I also met many other fellow KZreadrs at this even which was also great too. The West Valley Yard guys were chill and the driver of 198 even let us pull out the truck and operate cans with it!
Thanks to Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation and all of its hard working employees and volunteers for helping make this event possible!

The Mack 752 hasn't been used for several years.Tailgates are dirty because we had rain Thursday and our truck wash hasn't worked for a couple of years. A truck that was too tall broke it, and when the company came in to fix it, they didn't measure very well and the thing isn't high enough.
los angeles retired that mack le so they don’t have any more mack le trucks. but the west valley has great trucks. keep up the great content bro

Damn, why can't I spend like a month in LA? Great video, I hope you guys will be able to film the Mack LE and the N3 Amreps! I'd love to see both of them (:

garbageproductions1 It would be cool, I guess you could convince your parents to because of all the tourist attractions out here as well.

Glad you guys had a blast. Did you ask anyone the last time those minis or Macks were used? Also why are some of the tail gates so dirty? Also how were you guys able to get into the Mack, Condor etc? Did someone give you keys, opened it for you, or was it just open?

South Bay Refuse Most of the trucks were open. Mack is used sometimes and idk why some of the tailgates are dirty when they have a truck wash there.

Nice Job,lol they used your pic, that Mack looks good!! I think from this video, West Valley has some good trucks.
Haha that's awesome that your pic was used. That Mack looks amazing. Looks great in LABOS colors. Hopefully you guys will be able to find it this summer. Mackarena is good lol 2:37 was weird. What was that black tank for? I would think the recent rain would have cleaned 649's (3:27) tailgate haha Awesome pics of the n3! Are you serviced by West Valley? Good stuff Eli

***** Thanks! Will be very hard trying to find it this summer. Black tank was for CNG but its LABOS green cover was off. There is West Valley and West LA: I am serviced by West LA.
