I live in FL. Years ago my supervisor came back from vacation and said he found the perfect town-West Jefferson, NC. I told him I was born in that area. I rarely go there but I love it. Love the cheese factory. My relatives were tobacco farmers but switched to Christmas trees. Did you see the frescos at the nearby churches? And Shatley Springs is a great place to eat.

Not sure I could pass up the guitar shop. Stopped by the one in Sevierville and came out with a ukulele 🙂. What a cute cute town.

We've been visiting West Jefferson area annually for about 20 years. Our favorite place to stay has now closed, The Nesting Place (B&B) in Warrensville. Owners, Jan and Greg Hershner, were wonderful hosts and their home both beautiful and immaculate. They have since become foster parents so no longer have their home open to lodging.

Looks so great. I have been hearing a lot about this town. Adding it to my explore list!

Another couple of favorites in WJ... going to the chamber office getting info pamphlet and finding all the painted murals...can easily walk to find them all. And there's also a couple of barn quilt trails around the area that are fun to drive thru.

that Town was absolutely awesome… that would take you forever to see that whole town. It has the most neat shops.!!!! I could spend a week there because there’s not a shop I wouldn’t want to miss. Thanks for sharing. Hope you guys had a good time and as always it’s fun to see big T.

We were in West Jefferson two years ago 2021. Such a beautiful place. We are headed back again next month (October). So cool that you uploaded this right as we are preparing for our trip. We love the antique shops on Main St. and the mountains everywhere you look. That’s the best part. ❤ ⛰️ ❤

Love Ashe county..we hope to stay in WJ maybe next Spring for a weekend..a few years ago, we rented a cabin below Shatley Springs..took our Dog with us..very relaxing, and weather was perfect. Enjoy the rest of your week..God bless..hugs to Big T😊

I love small town visits and all the shops are not your average chain stores merchandise. I saw a few things I would had bought. Thank goodness my credit card is not soaring ! Karen you always look so beautiful and stylish. Perhaps consider coming back for more sights and events that takes place. Luckily you have a refrigerator in the Travato!

Have you and Karen heard about the Fresco Church in West Jefferson? I wish I had known that you were going here and I would have told you. It is amazing. There is another one a bit further out of town that is also beautiful, but that little white church with the fresco painting is the most peaceful and meaningful place I have ever been too. I only live a little over an hour from there, and when we go that little church is always on my list of places I have to go. Look it up online. It's amazing.

Haha. Our little pug is 15 practically blind and is deaf. His hips are really bad so we let him stroll along with us.
