I don't think Ive ever seen a theater set up like that where you go down stairs to the stalls...interesting. Good on the cast for sustaining that level of energy and pulling out even more for a mini concert at the end! I think its a great way to engage the audience and let them dance/sing along at that point. Hopefully keeps them from interrupting during the show. Pretty sure Proud Mary has been played at every wedding reception Ive ever been to. Gets a lot of people on the dance floor. Another fun outing thanks for taking us along!
Thank you aeron, for the comment about the floors, no-one would normally mention that, and I really appreciate you doing so! 😊
Girlfriend recently went to see tina turner musical this month she loved it and purchased some merch
Circa 1969 - John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival wrote "Proud Mary" and the band recorded it. That's the first time I heard it. Tina covered it and made it her own. Yes, I am that old.
I was at the Australian production hours after her passing Which made so much of the story more powerful But the moment near the end when she runs up the stairs was the moment when then entire audience burst into tears
Not sure if it was John Fogerty solo or Creedence Clearwater Revival, but the Tina version was later.
I have not heard the song so that one i will have to find on youtube or Spotify, thanks guys for the review, good as always cant wait for next review.
The first time I heard "Proud Mary" was the Ike and Tina Turner version on the radio. yeah, old skool.
I think I had previously heard the original Ike & Tina Proud Mary somewhere before, but Miss Congeniality: Armed and Fabulous really made me notice it!
The first time I heard Proud Mary was from my parents playing it but really I actually started listening to it because it was featured in Just Dance quite a few years ago, maybe also because of Glee. I do find it funny hearing Mickey mention Glee because I know from previous videos *cough cough Funny Girl fiasco* that you have very strong opinions about the show. Loving the vlogs though💜
🎤 my first time hearing "Proud Mary" was definitely the Ike and Tina version from a "solid gold hits of the 60's and 70's" CD my parents played.
I personally don't mind when people sing along in the theatre, at least they're engaging with the show!
Aeron gorgeous it has to be said again
I can't say for sure, but it's possible that I heard the Creedence Clearwater Revival version first. Now if Tina was on Carol Burnett or some variety show, then maybe I heard that version first.
Mike is either flushed away or Just Dance 2, I don’t know what happened first And the leopard trousers that Mickey wore to Tina are the same trousers Mickey wore when I first met him at Six Lyric Closing (both productions star Zara)
It’s not raining in Ealing, I say Ealing more Ealing borders. Enjoy Tina! It’s a great show ❤
it did all right on BROADWAY.....
Saw Tina recently It might have been media night too 😂 Last song of act one broke me completely It was incredible! ❤ I was on the side front dress circle
Missed the trigger warning before I went in oops
