    I first saw this routine probably both 13-14 years ago at a hustle/WCS event in the DC metro area. I cried watching it the first time and it still moves me every time I’ve watched it since then. It is literally my favorite West Coast swing routine, and the most memorable routine I’ve ever seen seen.

    West Coast Swing, Jordan and Tstianna, moved like the wind was blowing through the leaves of a tree They moved so beautifully together. Every single move exsicuted so FREAKIN well. They melted together so gosh darn hot, I couldn't take my eyes of them. I surely thought I'd miss something great. Wow that's off to that very great dance together. : )

    You're SO right!! Just take a look at the skinny beanpole at the end of the video (as they exit, the tall one between them at 3:42)... she's got nothing on Tatiana ! Honestly, I can't believe that her BMI is anywhere within double digits - which means also no muscle mass, therefore less admission /transportation of oxygen and voilà... no stamina! How long will it be until size Zero loses its appeal?!

    I have not seen a professional dancer that is skinny. They cannot be professional dancers and not be trained. Skinny and trained are a huge difference performance wise: a skinny woman cannot perform at any sport, because of missing muscle tissue and endurance. That a lot of dancers have little fat is due to dancing being a high endurance sport which ofc burns some of that away. Tatiana is extremly trained, just look at her back muscle... still requires a lof of discipline to get to this level. See, not skinny, but trained: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaBotZt6ndiaf7w.html

    Not much one for choreography, but - as choreographed routines go - this is pretty damn impressive. Everything incredibly complicated and done at roughly TWICE the speed of light sort of balances out the fact that it is choreographed. But if you want to see something really impressive watch Jordan or Tatiana in a J& J... NOW THAT IS AWESOME!

    I think an element that is being missed by the 'not dancing to the music' critics: these dances are designed and structured to be able to dance to music that you've never heard before, particularly the social dances like wcs. i.e. you can find 'chachas' that fit the music perfectly but dont actually resemble a chacha. Then you can find chachas that are chachas, but miss some elements of the melody/rhythm/etc in exchange for remaining in style and still being leadable-followable.

    Dan, I considered taking that route initially; however, I think Andrew didn't claim that they had poor "awareness", rather poor "musical" awareness. So, "poor" modifies the adjective, "musical", which would make it an adverb. Anyway, it's my interpretation based on how he wrote the sentence. Thanks for the reminder.

Everyone was quited surprised and of course she said yes. She was at RDS in 2010 and I did not see a ring on her finger. I dont know if she is still engaged.

    With regard to Jordan and Tatiana's dancing, the adverb "poor" is hardly one I would ever use. I would imagine the first question Skippy Blaire would ask you is, "What is your definition of 'musical awareness'?" Once you recognize Blaire's genius, then Jordan and Tatiana's execution will reveal texture which cannot be appreciated fully to the untrained. Of what little I know, there's a Grand Canyon separating those you mentioned and J&T. My opinion which means I'm right... just kidding! :-)

    I sort of agree with you, but for them, that would have been a BAD idea. They used to date each other, so a kiss would have been awkward at least, but (according to their website) their breakup was very rough. As much as I sort of think it's a sin that they're not dating, I'd rather see them working together like this as dancers. Besides, I don't think Tatiana's fiancee would have appreciated a kiss in this routine...

    @HunterstonB ....WCS you can dance to MANY DIFFERENT PARTS of the music: The beat, the lyrics, the instrumentals, melody, etc... and change it up throughtout the song for interpretation. There is no rule it must be danced ONLY to melody. It's very easy to be critical, but let's face it...You couldn't touch them, dance wise. If you think you can...post a vid... I'm sure WE'D ALL love to see it.

    @HunterstonB Not sure who you re or why you have this vendetta against Jordan and Tatiana, but I've seen your comments on more than one video of them. I've been a dancer for 6 years and a musician for MUCH longer and their dancing is very impressive. They are one of my favorite WCS couples. I'm sure they, like myself and others, do both social and competitive/show dancing (in fact, I've seen Tatiana at a social, and I've seen her improvise).

    @HunterstonB do you DANCE west coast swing? West Coast is about hearing things within the music and playing of of them. This song is actually a fast paced song for west coast if you do the actual beat...and they double timed some things to play with the nuances in the song. The dancers are incredible...some of the best I've seen and I dance west coast. quit judging dancers and learn something about the genre before talking.

  • @HunterstonB

    Try typing Melissa Rutz, Robert Royston, Tessa Cunningham or Kyle Redd into KZread. Jordan and Tatania have poor musical awareness, though physically they are the best of the best. J & J dancing seperates the best from the mere players.

  • @HunterstonB
    @HunterstonB13 жыл бұрын

    @dramababi00 Yes of course I dance WCS...... The dancers are incredibly athletic, just like many champion ballroom dancers, and just like most ballroom dancers they are melody deaf. Ask a good improvisational musician why the music is boring and you'll have an explanation why the dancing is boring. However, if you want to turn WCS into a ballroom dance and remove all the musical improvisation - this is the way to go. It's dumbed down music for dumbed down dancing.

    @HunterstonB Or another way to put it another way, most people cannot identify 'dancing to the music' and that includes many very highly skilled competitively successful dancers. The general population, the audience, and many dancers, can't actually identify or predict the structure in a piece of music, they are, (like Frisbee and Mollman) effecitively deaf to the music. If you can hear the music what's wrong with this is obvious, if you can't - it looks just wonderful.

    It's west coast which evolved from Lindy/Jitterbug/East Coast around 1950. The basic step pattern in either style is done to 6 beats of music. East-coast is triple-step ,triple-step, rock-back. West coast is walk-walk, triple-step ,triple-step,

  • @HunterstonB
    @HunterstonB13 жыл бұрын

    @grandcarriage1 Just about any dancer with a ear for music could dance better than them. The problem is, if you can't see how flawed this you'll be unable to identify 'dancing to the music' on any level. You can't distinquish good dancing from bad. The problem is only about 1 in 10 people can identify dancing to the music (or the melody structure in a piece of music). So the majority of people are judging them by much, much lower standards than a musician dancer would.
