Madeline and Clark got creative with Monday night dance class. We worked with belts to get a feeling of the elastic nature of West Coast Swing...that compression and release dynamic that gives West Coast Swing that graceful undulating look. Madeline and Clark also encouraged dancers to practice freedom of expression along with being willing to take a chance on learning new ways of connecting and learning new moves. They mentioned the highly musical nature of WCS and how it adapts well to nuances from other forms of dance. Then we were given a series of moves, reviewed and new, to practice.
