Beautiful drive. Did this 10 years ago in a Honda Fit.
Check conditions before you go! I tried it an SUV several years ago and the road was so bad near the west end that I popped a sidewall. Further along was impassable even by a 4 wheel drive towtruck. Walked out to where a friend could meet me. A real nightmare and expensive to recover the car. Glad to see that the conditions are better than when I attempted.
I lived up there for almost 10 years pretty close to where the pavement ends. It still gives me the spooks to this day because me and my girlfriend were sleeping comfortable in our yurt when we heard a gunshot. Later we found out that was Nicolas Markowitz being murdered by lizards mouth. There are sketchy people up there at times. We lived on a beautiful piece of land but our landlord was a lifelong criminal.
Nice looking area
looks like a dangerous crazy roadtrip. :) but with such beautiful spots. Thanks for sharing

You're welcome. That whole area has awesome scenery. I'll be releasing another video of a trail in Santa Barbara soon.

There's nothing particularly dangerous about that road.
Nice trail, I look forward to diving it myself. I hope the rock slide area gets cleared out to make it straight through. I see you also changed the music up a bit.
It looks like the road might be open again according to the website. Does anyone know for sure?
Very cool, I live near by and didn’t know about this trail. Would you say a full size truck could fit? So many trails are too narrow with the overgrown brush. How long did this take you?

Hello, I’ve done this trail plenty of times in my tacoma and my 2nd gen Cummins. You’ll be just fine, although it is closed currently

@@FredSHerr if you google “west Camino Cielo” it will tell you the trail status. I actually talked to a forest service member when I tried going up there a couple weeks ago. He was saying it should be open late this month or early to mid June :) safe travels if you do go, I hope it opens up sooner rather than later. P.S. - if you’re worried about the trail being technical, it’s a pretty easy one. Very beautiful with minimal need for 4x4. There are a couple pull outs where you can use 4x for fun though!!
Also on the second day, did you start at Broadcast Peak?
Sis has a new (to her) subaru and lives in SB, gonna show her this trail on Sunday if it's not still closed
How long was the second day’s drive up and down?
