West African Textiles
Фильм және анимация
The African textile industry is fascinating in it’s history, complexity, and artistry, and as a symbol of African culture and heritage. This short video offers insight into the work of practitioners who keep alive three West African (Nigeria, Ghana and Mali) ancient textile traditions: Adire, Adinkra and Bogolan 'Mud cloth'.
Each technique merits a full-length documentary for there is so much more to discover about African textiles and the diversity in the craftsmanships, which remain inexhaustible sources of inspiration and satisfaction worldwide.
