Were The Patriots Cheaters?

Спорт

The greatest dynasty the NFL has ever seen is surrounded by scandal, covered in controversy, and hated by anyone outside of their fanbase. This is how The New England Patriots became the most hated team in NFL history.

    What could be on them that was so bad? All teams were filming the opposing teams’ signals from the box. The Patriots did it from the field. What could be on the Pat’s tapes that wasn’t on every other teams tapes? I think it’s just standard practice for the NFL to destroy evidence. For example after deflategate the league tested football pressures in a bunch of games, then destroyed that evidence. That actually seems to make more sense because it could’ve proved the whole thing was BS and they didn’t want to be embarrassed.

His team hadn't won a Superbowl since the 60's before he became the starter and now he has 2 rings and 3 AFC championships within his first 6 seasons as a starter, he's on pace to tie Tom Brady for Superbowl wins by the time he reaches the length of career that Tom had. Not saying he will win that many but so far he wins as frequently as Tom did. Both won a superbowl for 1/3rd of the seasons they've played. Brady Made 10/21 possible appearances as a starter while Mahomes made 3/6, Mahomes makes the Superbowl more often than Brady did in terms of percentage.

    @@waffles5433 That might be a stretch, besides maybe his TD totals, roughly 25/yr which is good. Quick check and his first 5 years as a starter he averaged about 63comp%, 90 Q rating and threw about 7ypa. Not really exceptional numbers. What he was exceptional at was... Not screwing up😄 He took very good care of the ball and played smart, led league in fewest picks a couple times. But that's all you need sometimes, Alex Smith made a career out of it and Kirk Cousins carries his torch. Brady was undeniably great. But I think the D and Adam V were much more important those early years than Tom. Later in his career, he very much was the most important player.

It is true it wouldn’t be considered high end by todays numbers, however back then his numbers were *very* good: 2001: 4th in completion%, 10th in TD%, 6th in passer rating 2002: 8th in completion%, 6th in passing yards, 1st in TD’s, 8th in TD%, 8th in INT%, 9th in passer rating 2003: 6th in passing yards, 10th in TD’s, 5th in INT%, 10th in passer rating 2004: 10th in passing yards, 6th in TD’s, 6th in TD%, 8th in YPA, 9th in passer rating 2005: 8th in completion%, 1st in passing yards, 3rd in TD’s, 8th in TD%, 6th in YPA, 6th in passer rating 2006: 7th in passing yards, 4th in TD’s, 9th in TD%, 8th in INT%, 9th in passer rating The guy was putting up Top 5-10 stats in every major passing category almost every season before even getting his hands on an elite receiver. Deion Branch and David Givens were decent receivers, but a far cry from Harrison or Wayne, Chad Johnson, TO, Driver, etc. Brady didn’t just not screw up, he was going out there and performing at a high level.

    @@waffles5433 I'm old enough, but I had indeed forgotten how much lower the stats were at the time. You made me look harder haha. And yes, not bad at all. But being smart with the ball helps. Manning liked to throw which resulted in a ton of picks first few years. Drew Bledsoe never got back his job because he was similar. Goes back to him being smart with the football. You got me on the numbers, but I still believe without that D and Adams clutch leg, they wouldn't have won those rings.

  • @brando4422

    @brando4422

    @@krob5375It's crazy how those first few years people forget you could still play D with guys who had modern skill set and athleticism. It's why quarterback numbers are not comparable to the no touch, jam, wait tell a receiver is standing wide open because you can't touch them either. Breaking 30 T.D. was 😮. Throwing 3,000 and 25 T.D. under 15 INT. was elite. Then year by year after 05 I think when the Colts changed the rules to help Manning offensive attack by making corners not be allowed to be bumping the receivers, and the Brady 08 rule since they new people would loose more interest in a season when top quarterbacks were all out which did happen. Have to look at numbers in sports the last 10 years like you do inflation since 1 million used to be a lot but not anymore just like stats. Today it should be much easier for QB Ratings and 30 touchdowns is like 24 back then. People don't take clutch throws and winning drives into account which is all he did when they asked him to win it. It was the same with Montana and Elway, they played the system they were asked to do, then go win it for us in the end. Brady played so damn long, we forget he basically played in two different leagues of football, and the second half made it look like he was below average when comparing his stats from both era's.

    Great vid. I would like to add: 2001 you went short... There was much more than the fumble none fumble against the Raiders, and the filming of SL´s practise. Good for Goddell to destroy all evidence. What a spineless, corrupt and greedy soldier for NFL owners "protecting" their monoploy. During the SB, SL receivers were illegally held all game long. No flags were thrown. The game winning FG was attempted with 7 seconds to go. Since when take 48 yrd FGs seven seconds? Exactly. The refs made sure nothing goes wrong on the very last play of the season, like an unlikely KO TD return... Btw, Belicheat "defensive genius" still could not prevent Warner from passing for 365 in that exact game. NE needed every single one of that that +3 turnovers, like a heroin addict needs his three or so daily shots. NE was outplayed by SL while their hands were tight behind their backs (fig. speaking). I love underdogs pulling upsets, but this game (and what happened in the Raiders game) left me in deep disgust. It was the last season I fully watched with joy. Everything changed after this blatant cheating. The top of the ice cream was when Brady got "MVP" honours for dink and dunking himself to 144 yards passing. Pro football died that day, like pro baseball died in 1994.

    "Deflategate" has been proven to be false. 1. The most important fact is New England won by like 30+ points. A deflated ball isnt changing that. 2. A report showed even if it was slightly deflated, it made almost zero difference. 3. Another report showed that atmosphere conditions in new england during the game wouldve created conditions ample enough to decrease the PSI naturally. It was a total sham on the New England Patriots and this is coming from a Lions fan.

    Anyone who cheats to win is a loser. Just look how many tours Lance, and nobody, ever won. Even if you don't get caught, you will always know it's all lies.

    In that case every NFL team is a loser. Literally every team in the league cheats or has cheated plus all the current cheating and past cheating that we dont and never will know about.

    @cameronspence4977 That's what happens when you make sports into a business. You end up with the same ethics. Everyone believes everybody is cheating, so then the real losers are the teams with integrity.
