Yeah, there's not many channels that I trust for authentic reviews. I think it's impossible to remain unbiased unless the reviewer buys the products themselves.

Haha I think you have the bit inserted the wrong way, it don't matter because its 1/4" both sides but the notches should probably go inside the tool.

The Wera chuck doesn't care. It's not a Wera bit anyway. I think the only way it would matter was if the bits were diferentially heat treated. Thumbs up for your eagle eyes though!

Would it be suitable for mounting rifle scopes? Those operations are very sensitive, a squashed scope can mean big $$$ in lost value. Also: If yes, what set of bits would be good for that purpose?

  • @sheltermonkey6065

You have to consult the manufacturer's instructions for the mount to find out the recommended tightening torque. The Felo torque limiting handles are easier to use than this Wera, so I recommend the Felos. They have 3 different variants that cover different torque ranges. But you have to check what your fastener torque specs are. When you buy a Felo handle, you should also get the 1/4" Bit-Holding Blade. As for 1/4" bits, any of the German brands bits are good, Wera, Wiha, or Felo. Quality bits are only a few dollars.

Hi. I have no idea what your needs and usage cases are. Felo makes torque screwdrivers which are less than half the price of the Wera's. The Felo's cover the range 0.6 Nm - 1.5 Nm, 1.5 Nm - 3.0 Nm, 3.0 Nm - 5.4 Nm. I needed the lower torque range of the Wera for certain applications.

There is no need to store tools at their lowest setting. The spring does not loose its force over time. Actually backing them off is more likely to wear out the adjusting mechanism. I find it takes a while for a tool to settle once you calibrate it. If you always use a tool for the same setting, you should just leave it there. My company checks its tools weekly. They don't move.

"The spring does not loose its force over time." Actually springs do (at least metal springs), but the amount of relaxation is very dependent on stress and temperature, and also on the manufacturing process. I don't disagree with you that preserving the adjusting mechanism may be a more important issue. This is from the Wera manual: "Attention! If the adjustable torque screwdriver is out of use for a longer period, then turn the wrench back to the smallest adjustable torque value to reduce unnecessary stress of the spring mechanism" Thanks for commenting.
