Everyone saying things like "gay or not, hes beautiful", "even tho he's gay, I/he still ____", that's not okay, though you may think it is. When you say something like that, it's like you're saying, "despite this one bad thing, he is still great," but being gay isnt a bad thing. It's not something that needs to be excused or forgiven, he just is. Plain and simple. Just say he's handsome, say you like him, say he's your hero, it doesnt matter. "Gay or not" doesn't need to be at the start of every one of your compliments or remarks. He is who he is: a human. Dont treat him any differently.

Wentworth Miller is so much more than I ever thought. He's not just another pretty face. To look at him, you would conclude his life was charmed, he never had a worry in the world, that everything was handed to him on a platter and that he has never had a single solitary bad moment or thought. We all have a story and I am happy Wentworth opened up and can tell his story without shame or fear of discovery, sorrow and guilt and fear of what others think. The thing we don't realize in fearing other people's opinions about us is that they have their own story.

I am not of the LGBT community either. I am Christian. In high school, my best friend was G. It was hard for him to come out to me (he knew I was a believer), but I'm so glad he did. I was glad he told me the truth and trusted me with it. My life partner struggle(d/s) with depression and suicide. Of Wentworth... I'm just so glad he could get to the point he's at - that he made it past 15 and found he could be a part of a community, that he wasn't alone. Some very important people in my life share in similar struggles and I don't know what I'd do without them. It's hard, but I'm glad he (and the people in my life) have grown and survived through it to this day. Thumbs up to Wentworth and a digital handshake. Well done.

When I went to Adam Lambert's concert in my country, religious people protested outside the arena with pictures of him kissing another guy, they threw his pictures on the ground and then stepped on his face. I went home that night and cried for him... Even now as frontman of Queen, countries are still trying to put a ban on him. It's all ignorance, blind hate and bully's attitude. When asked about actions as such in interviews, his replies were never harsh, he's always classy. He desensitised, educated and changed people's perceptions about homosexuality, fans learned to accept and embrace him. I have been a fan of Wentworth's since Dinotopia. When I heard his speech here, I cried for him.... I commend his honesty and courage to put himself up there and out there to educate and be the pillar of strength for all who feel that they are different and alone. He smashes all stereotypes many have on gay people. He showed us that there are amazing talents, intelligence, gracefulness and class, cool people, love and diversity among those who are gay. What I find ironic sometimes is religions teach us to ostracize and hate gay people, but gay people teach us to love instead. Ultimately, we are all human beings, we cry the same tears, straight or gay, no difference.

Often people only stop at the appearence, at the stereotypes, at the fame, at the gossip, and never want to go deeper inside someone. Wentworth is more than an actor, is more than a extremely talented man, is more than a super hot guy, he's a real man. I'm a boy, I'm not sure of who I am, but I would really like to meet this person, he's an inspiration, he can give strenght to people who do not believe in anything no more. When I first heard that Mr. Miller was a gay man, I was a bit sad. Only because I had watched prison break and loved his charachter. I don't know him personally. I had no right to be sad. That passed quickly as I realized that this was his reality. I am very proud of and happy for Mr. Miller to finally be free from the oppression and fear. For becoming a part of something much larger than himself. I pray he has found peace, love, and acceptance. Something every person deserves and is entitled to. I identified with some of what he said. Not because I am gay, because I am human and grew up in a nightmare. Always being and feeling alone. Humans are the cruelest of all life forms on this planet. Good luck to Mr. Miller. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

I have my 13 yr old daughter came out as Bi. At first I thought maybe she is just confused. Maybe she is lost in between. She carries that burden for 3yrs and she can't express herself. Until she ended up dropped out from school. She became too private. She became a loner. How many times she attempted to take her own life by slitting her wrist. I even brought her to a psychiatrist. She used to be the jolly and lively girl always sing and dance. She would always wear dress and cute clothes. But when she reached 10 suddenly everything changed! I can still remember when she came out this year as a Bi. It was 4am she woke me up and she started crying bcoz she felt like suffocated and couldnt breathe bcoz of the burden of coming out. She was scared to disappoint us. She's our only girl!!! After she came out, she is the happiest rainbow I've ever seen....😍❤️
