Wenderholm Regional Park

Wenderholm Regional Park, Auckland, New Zealand
A series of video, time lapse and stills taken at the Wenderholm Regional Park as well as Couldrey House.
All this about 40km north of Auckland. The park is moderatly busy over Christmas / School holidays and provides electric BBQ's with areas that can be booked for group outings, outside these times especially on a weekday not so many visitors - very good if you like personal space :)
The Pohutukawa trees with the red flowers come into bloom around Christmas time, hence their name "the New Zealand Christmas tree".
Highly recommended for a visit. Just one of many excellent (and free) Regional Parks.
Couldrey House which is looked after by volunteers has a small fee. couldreyhouse.org.nz/historic/
Capture: Stills: Canon 5D4, Canon G7Xii
Video and time lapse : IPhone 11ProMax on DJI OM4 Gimbal

What a lovely exploration of Wenderholm Regional Park. The beginning pastures and grazing sheep really set the stage for the peacefulness of this place. I really enjoy the variety of trees you capture in New Zealand, the flowers are stunning. The beach is nice and quiet, you could walk along and really relax there. Couldrey House is elegant and nicely restored. The tea room and tea set are adorable. Enjoyed the classic music too. Nice 👍👍🌳🌳🌴🏘

Hi, thanks for looking at the “back catalogue” . Wenderholm is my all time favourite park, it was just a 20 mins drive from my farm and except for a few weeks in the summer school holidays it’s very quiet and right now during winter, on a week day there might only be ten people there. Still go there often even though it’s a lot further away for a bit of peace and sanity since I’m now living back in the city 😀. Many happy memories of people and picnics at Wenderholm .😎

Thanks Tony, there is a years gathering in that one with the Pohutukawa images spanning two Christmas's . I have quite a number of projects in the works but it can take me an age to gather what I'm looking for with some of them, covid doesn't help us Aucklanders :( Thinking of getting a GP8 any thoughts on those as hanging the iPhone out the car window on a gimbal as I have been doing feels a bit risky - to an expensive phone.

Thanks Clive , hopefully if you do make it over my vlogs will give you a good steer on some good places to visit . Even though I've lived in Auckland most of my adult life I'd be the first to admit that the South Island offers the best landscape opportunities - if you haven't already seen this its my selection from just a small part of the south kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6uXwc98dKbPcbQ.html . My Dads folks were from Kent which is why I find your clips interesting although obviously in 2020 /21 you've bee pretty confined to home. Cheers.

Hey thanks, its a beautiful park any time of the year , I really only touched on it. If you like this one you might like one of my earlier videos at the Muriwai Regional Park , its on the opposite coast with the shore completely exposed to the open ocean.

@@Chris-NZ we’re headed out at 3:00 am to a famous small lake. You probably never heard of it but it where a girl named Susan Smith killed her two small kids then tried to say someone kidnapped them. Very well known case. We’re doing night to day.

@@KenToney used Mr Google and Wikipedia, quite the sad case, I saw a further 7 people drowned when they went to see the same spot the two boys were killed. I’m going to try shortening my time lapse interval as I think my final results are running too fast .
