If he is this good in his rookie season without any NBA knowledge and all he keeps saying is he wants to learn more and more and any chance he gets he’s attempting to learn more and every game he is getting better and better, how would he be in Chet Holmgren‘s situation. Having a full year to sit out and gain NBA knowledge then come out the next year with a MVP caliber point guard. He’s averaging almost a triple double I guarantee it. You build chemistry you build NBA knowledge and then you have an entire off-season to practice with your guys. Let’s stop acting like Chet Holmgren is as good as victor. I respect and cheer for both players, YET there are very valid points being mentionned that should be considered: 1 - If we go for the cheer INDIVIDUAL numbers, then Victor takes it, man he is LEADING THE NBA in Blocks as a Rookie ... is that even a debate? 2 - If we go from the Rookie or not standpoint, even if he didn't play, Holmgrem has had NBA level training, coaches, and insights even by just sitting on the bench and this has a lot of value, Wembanyama didn"t and you could see it by jut watching first half and second half of the season, numbers ain't the same. 3 - If we go for the 'TEAM THEY IN' perspective, debate is quite large, some might argue Victor shines because he is the only real threat in the spurs while others would argue Chet is fulfilling a role thus sacrificing some numbers of his own. From my point of view Victor takes it simply because opposite teams are on him and would double if not triple defense on him because of what and who he is, this doesn't happen with Chet who's got greater teamates standing by his side. 4 - Let us subjectively measure the progression margin on both these players, let's face it, both improved quite a lot throughout this season and yet, once again, Victor is quite definitely the one you can see the biggest improvement on ... his game and numbers speak for themselves. So in conclusion, whether you like it or not, deny it or not, Both are unicorns and both are deserving of the award, yet Id give it to Victor hands down, man has been a wrecking ball all over the league, hes given you so many unbelievable highlights and already shown hes stading his ground against the very finest (Giannis, Davis, etc), that is in itself the very definition of a ROTY ain't it?

Chet Holmgren just made NBA history. "The most recent proof of the Oklahoma City Thunder big man’s dominant ability on both ends of the floor came in the form of some unique NBA history. Holmgren became the first player to total 150 blocks, 150 assists and 100 three-pointers in a single season, as Daily Thunder’s Brandon Rahbar detailed." As seen above, this came just days after San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama hit the mark of 75 three-pointers in a season and currently sits with 81 on the year. Holmgren and Wembanyama remain in an interesting battle for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award, and it’s a race that’s expected to come down to the wire. Holmgren is averaging 17.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.6 blocks per game while Wembanyama is averaging 20.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.3 blocks per game. Sports Illustrated

Ranking each of the new Clippers logos - 1. Global: 8.5/10 Must have the entire name Los Angeles Clippers on it as the N represents North. Love the red outline for the 80-10s Clippers colors with the baby blue outline around the C(ompass/ship) to represent our San Diego colors. This is our best logo since our San Diego one which showed three triangles as sails and with a sun behind it that can also represent a basketball. 2. Secondary A: 8/10 Prior to this newly scripted “LA” font in cursive, I was not a fan of the LA we had with the A on top of the L. It tried to look too much like the Dodgers but looked uglier. But this new LA font is distinctive enough thanks to being cursive from the iconic Dodgers’ LA one. Gillian Zucker is excited for this one. I will definitely be buying a hat for this new LA font. Think of the Yankees’ NY. There is a distinct way it’s written to know it’s a Yankees hat. 3. Primary: 7.5/10 This looks like the global one but without Los Angeles Clippers written for it. I figure this is the one networks and Yahoo Sports will use because the LAC inside a ball is being used more and that’s also our primary one. I prefer if the networks and ESPN webpage use the global one. 4. Secondary B: 7.5/10 This is the one with Clippers scripted in cursive. A throwback to the 1984-2015 one written on our jerseys prior to our NBA Live 2006 logo and all the LAC stuff. I actually think this one is better with the more straight lines. As Gillian Zucker said, the previous one we used for 31 years did look more cartoony and not for us to be taken seriously which was the case when we were owned by Donald Duck Sterling. 5. Secondary C: 7/10 It just says Clips in cursive. I prefer seeing it as Clippers. I know it’s a stupid name and some wanted a name change but I find it enjoyable saying Clippers more than Lakers. For the perverts out there, it’s like saying nipples. 🫢 With Clips, it rhymes with nips and I think of paper clips 🖇️ that Jason McIntyre enjoys calling us. But I guess Steve Ballmer likes calling us Clips for short. Our new Clips jersey this season looks too much like the Wizards jerseys from 20 years ago that MJ wore. 6. Partial: 6/10 This one will likely be seldom used. It’s the C but without the ship inside. It does look like a silhouette of a basketball but I don’t see this one being used for merch very much. I predict networks like ESPN using the global logo for us. This one will likely get scrapped after a season similar to the red LAC jerseys. Even our global logo with the NBA Live 2006 script was scrapped in favor for the LAC inside the basketball. You rarely see the original one from 2015 on networks or on merch. Best Clippers Logos Ever 1. 2024-???? 2. 1978-1982 3. 2015-2024 4. 1982-1984/LA: 1984-2015 That first San Diego Clippers logo has really held up after 46 years. I don’t know why they changed it by 1982 to the one that would be used for the next 33 years with the difference saying Los Angeles above Clippers instead of San Diego by the time the team moved to LA in 1984. The only thing I don’t like from the San Diego one were their colors. I’m not the biggest fan of baby blue mixed with a darker orange. I prefer the red, white, and blue scheme by the 1982-2015 ones. Then I liked the 2015-2024 ones when it added more black with their previous colors. This new one is already the new GOAT for Clipper logos. I do prefer more of the navy blue these days. I own a lot of red shirts and hoodies. I own the Jordan 13 Bred. But one thing I’m learning is blue especially navy hides dirt and flaws better. And why not NAVY blue? A tribute to a fleet of clipper ships. Ranking the new jerseys 1. Navy blue with Clippers: 8/10 I would’ve preferred if Clippers was in black along with the number. Not Clippers in red and the number in white. I try to avoid most things in white as they get dirty too easily like owning a white car or white sneakers. But I think this is the best of the three to represent the new logo and new rebranding in our new arena. This is the one I’ll get for Kawhi’s jersey. 2. White with Clippers: 7.5/10 This basically looks like the home white jerseys we had for about 30 years. Check Danny Manning wearing a white home Clippers jersey circa 1992-1993. The only difference is the Clippers is in navy blue this time instead of red and the strip on the sides kept evolving since the 00s. I actually think this one does look better because I prefer how Clippers is written. I prefer the straighter lines over the cartoony one. This is the one that will likely be used when we retire Kawhi’s number. 3. Red with Los Angeles: 6/10 Like the red LAC jersey from 9 years ago, I believe this one will hardly be used and be scrapped after a season like our new partial logo with just a C on it. Clippers already removed their blue in place of baby and navy blues. I believe they’ll start distancing themselves from red and will gravitate towards more to navy blue. Hence, why their City Edition Clips jerseys was used as a test drive to embrace more of that navy blue and the word: Clips. Clippers finally put a logo out with some thought into it. Minimalistic. Tribute to our past. Great job, Clips. But even a new logo and new unis won’t change our future if we never win a championship. Job isn’t finished. Is job finished? We’re now 4th and have lost 4 of our last 7 games. We haven’t played great since winning in Boston. I’m not sure we have the size to stop Denver, Minny, NOLA, and Lakers if we meet up in the playoffs and if we can’t even handle scrawny af Chet Holmgren. Ty Lue will keep using smaller players and making us shoot tons of threes. Then when we miss, we’ll get murdered in the paint. We can’t rebound or defend the rim. I sense a First Round upset is coming for us. If we meet Sacramento or Dallas early, I’m not sure we can beat them either. Clippers are just an annual regular season tease like my San Francisco 49ers. But at least my Niners are making Super Bowls even though we’re losing in them. Clippers have never made a Finals yet. New logo but same old Clippers. Same old heartbreaks and bad luck. A new rebranding isn’t changing any of that.

Chet 40% from 3 as a second or third option on a winning team. Wemby as teh first option of a bottom feeder but with crazy stats across the board. Tough decision. Wemby has more opportunity than Chet who's playing with an MVP and still able to shine. But Wemby has had many crazy games. a 5x5 as a rookie? I'd have to say Wemby.

The fact Stephen a sat up there and had the audacity to stay that when wemby and Chet faces off it was basically a back and forth or that it was close is crazy wemby absolutely bullied Chet the last time they faced off it wasn’t even close

Okc is small market and don't get much coverage, but if you have watched them for the last two years, those rookie players have improved. People were saying chet was a bust, but we never got a chance to see him play. I am happy I saw him blossom and show everyone wrong.

It was arguably tight at one point, but Wemby has expectedly ran away with it.

If the Spurs had a better record or if Wemby was on OKC, he'd also be in the conversation for DPOY.
